According to France 3 Picardie quoting Préfecture de l'Oise, the two suspects are hiding in a house in Crépy en Valois, in Oise.
Armoured vans are deployed in the city.

It would be good if they can arrest them instead of killing them in a gun fight. Prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law would be showing those terrorists that we will not fight barbarism with barbarism, and that the rule of law (one of the pinnacles of Western society) will prevail over violence.

Well the problem is not really the authorities wanting to kill them rather than capturing them, the issue is that they are heavily armed and that it will be extremely hard if not impossible to stop them without killing them.

That's the problem : you can't ask policemen to get killed in order to capture them instead of killing them...
Even tho it'd be GREAT if they are captured alive.

I have a feeling GIGN/RAID won't be making any special efforts to capture them alive. Usually when these top tier special forces are brought in, they don't expect survivors.
Example: SAS during the Iranian embassy siege. They shot and killed the terrorists on sight. More controversially, SAS operations against the IRA resulted in more than a few dead terrorists
