I'm heartened to see that expressions of "nationalism" and solidarity are not entirely faux pas. Perhaps something good can come from all of this tragedy. A united France is a strong France.

I just hope this won't lead to even more tensions between the West and Islamic countries, or with muslim communities in western countries. I also hope all the "anti-terrorism" surveillance madness doesn't escalate further.

This was a domestic terrorist attack as far as any evidence has come out besides a surviving terrorist fleeing to Syria IIRC, so it undoubtedly will cause serious stigma to muslims attempting to enter France, but that's been going on for a while now for good and bad reasons.

It was the biggest rally ever seen.

I heard on the german ARD the number 1,5 million - in Paris alone.

plus hundreds of thousand in Strasbourg, Lyon etc...

//edit: also in Vienna there were about 12k people

would have been there as well but I am at my parent's for the weekend and a birthday celebration.

even if France wins the world cup, fewer people will take to the streets.

That was insane. Couldn't even reach the start of the march itinerary. Took me 3 hours to "walk" something like 200 meters. 1,5 million people in Paris, 0 incident, policemen acclaimed, flags everywhere from all over the world. Delightful display of peace.

Yeah was great. I couldn't follow the legit itinary and followed the third one (republique - bastille - nation). But don't watch TV, none of the tards in the media understood anything about the march.
