It could happen, but the responsability is on current politics. You see, here is the problem: 1) Politics/Media deny and sugar coats some events. This leads to the impossibility of having a rational discussion about certain topics (i.e immigration) because one gets immediately labelled as fascist, racist, nazi and whatever. 2) However, people are not 'brain-washed sheeps that follow populists', as many on TL seem to believe. They simply see the problem is there, right in front of their eyes. Maybe politicians do not see it with their secutiry staff, but the worker coming home after his restaurant shift at 2 am sees it. 3) People becomes engaged with the problem and they want to face it: but where do they go, since mainstream politics seem to ignore it? They start to vote for parties that, while maybe not being saints (but I doubt there are saints in politics anyways) are simply TALKING about the problem and proposing solutions. In substance, the politically correctness machine developed by the western world is simply pushing people towards extremist parties. Or do you really believe 20/30% of population got suddenly brainwashed by new fascists and nazis, incapable of seeing the 'rational values of the western world' and acting like sheeps? While simply some years ago they were all good people who saw the truth and voted for Merkel? | ||

In either case, I am thinking no. Any (national) 2 digit turnout for a party right of CDU/CSU would surprise me really. That is assuming the economy doesn't get considerably worse, but I see no reason why it shouldn't stay strong. | ||

Stockholm police spokesman Varg Gyllander confirmed to The Associated Press on Monday there was "a large number" of sexual assaults during the five-day festival and that scores of suspects were detained. Gyllander couldn't confirm the ethnicity of the alleged attackers in Stockholm but said "this involves young men who are not from Sweden."
