Wasn't the giant being killed or otherwise occupied?

It was being occupied, but I think it could have won its fight and still be able to help Jon before it was too late. It was not clear that Jon was dead by the end of the chapter. In an interview, the author even hinted at Jon being there for the next book. In what form, we don't know. I want to say it was in an Entertainment Weekly interview.

Wasn't the giant being killed or otherwise occupied? The giant (Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun if you're wondering what his name is) as far as I remember had killed that douchebag knight who called himself a giantslayer (I think his name was Godrick or something pretentious like that) after Godrick backed him into a corner and pointed his sword at him. Godrick got completely smashed up but managed to cut Wun causing Wun to get panicky and while Jon and the wildling that could speak the old tongue were trying to calm him down the night's watch douchebags stabbed Jon. So Wun could end up chasing off Bowen Marsh and his followers and then Jon is probably gonna be resurrected by Melisandre. I can't imagine him not being resurrected like that, I can't think of a reason why Melisandre would stick around if not for her to resurrect Jon.

He got stabbed a few times by his brothers though. I think it would be pretty hard to live after that. I wonder if Melisandre can do what the other red priest did with Catelyn and Beric. He'd come back to life even more badass and killing everybody.
I wonder if he gets to poon Daenerys

				Jon gets rezzed.
  Danny invades Westeros.
The faceless men kill the dragons.
The others can't be stopped and march across Westeros from top to south.
  Every. Single. Person. Dies.

Knowing GRRM, he won't be satisfied until he kills every single character in his world. Violently if he manages to find the page space.

Haha this would be so epic. Can you seriously imagine? The others just come and pwn everybody. You're sitting there reading, waiting for the turn of events but there isn't one.

Jon is Ice, Daenerys is fire and they play some soothing beats as Jon does his thing.
The others pwning everything is a good idea. After book 2 I thought that happening would be like "the petty conflicts of men don't matter when you've got zombies eating brains"

Haha, best summary ever But I agree about the killing of characters =) Everytime I begin to like a character, he kills it

Too many people assume here that Others are just a typical Evil (tm) group that has no other purpose in life but to trouble our heroes. Like with anything Martin, Others are not going to conform to your typical fantasy stereotypes.

Hm wow very good point. I had not ever thought of that.. I seriously just thought they were the bad guy zombies who just like to fuck everything up but I guess there must be some reason to them...
Like for example, being controlled by the little people of the forest to exact revenge on man! Nooooo! Bran might be getting played to the max by bloodeyes and those children.

Well there a lot of wild theories already on westeros forum but none of them assume Others are just man eating monsters. Yes, Bran is possible in trouble and also might cause the problem down the line.

Mellisandre does haver her prophesies about "the one whos name must not be mentioned" and talks about the darkness he will bring to the world, obviously referring to the others.... but then she talks about the wood guy underground somewhere, probably referring to the children.... could they be related?
Also the others wont go into the childrens hideout...

So how'd you guys like teh new episode of the show?
I think it's all been super well done, from what I remember. Only things that bother me are some really small things: 1) Osha saying the comet means dragons. That was Old Nan, damnit! Her being the only one to get that right just added to her... interesting-ness. Y'know? The ageless lady who knew things she shoudln't know. 2) The hound doesnt fight with a mace, afaik, although that's not really a problem at all. 3) Jorah calling Dany 'Blood of my blood,' along with Rhakaro. Were bloodriders ever explained in the show? 'Cause I don't remmeber them ever going over that. And I'm pretty sure Jorah was never one.
The wolves -- or at least Grey Wind -- look awesome.

Raising people from the dead? No. I hope that GRRM won't do something so cheap.

I like Jon, but for the good of the story, he should stay dead.
strictly speaking we never saw him die. he just got stabbed a bunch.
Also how did the nights watch think that killing Jon was a good idea. What do they think the whole Army of wildings is going to do now that they killed the only person who had any kind of care for them
