I can't handle this any more...
First the new Reek throws away his chance to destroy the Boltons with a word, even though the Godswood tells him so. Then you think 'Well, Stannis will sort him out.' And what happens? He fucking dies in the snow because the idiot doesn't take his powerful sorceress with him... Then Jon raises enough men to sort him out but gets stabbed in the same chapter. Four times. Most likely dead...
But at least there's the omniscient, all powerful Varys, plotting to put a well educated, decent, kind Targaeryan on the throne. NOPE, LET'S ROAST THAT BITCH WITH DRAGONFIRE.
It's infuriating.

It's infuriating. But with Stannis out of the way, Jon Snow now has the Witch on his side, no? And I find it very unlikely that Jon dies.

I would find it very weird as well, I'm sure she could revive him, like Thoros of Myr does several times.
And Ramsay's letter could be full of lies, but Asha's chapter quenches my hopes in that regard...
And I don't think I get the Aegon story. In the epilogue, Varys talks about Aegon's virtues and education and reveals the scheme to put him on the Iron Throne, like he's still alive. Could it really be that he doesn't know? Or is there a Backup-backup-Aegon?

it's actually not likely that any of them is dead (yet).
Jon Snow has been stabbed repeatedly, however, the world is full of magic by this time and apparently death is not an end to much anymore (also, GRRM answered in response to a question about John's death: "So you think he is dead?")
And the only source stating Stannis' death is a letter from a Bolton...not quite reliable!
|
Not reliable, but Stannis' host was in a dire state. Not likely to even reach Winterfell, and less likely to take it... I agree that Jon will likely be revived, but I think that Stannis might be gone for good. Having the Bastard of Bolton kill the most righteous man in the Seven Kingdoms would be the ultimate slap in the face and I would not put that past GRRM.
Also I don't think I get the Aegon storyline. In the epilogue, Varys talks about Aegon's virtues and education and reveals the scheme to put him on the Iron Throne, like he's still alive. Could it really be that he doesn't know? Or is there a Backup-backup-Aegon?

Who are you talking about here? Varys is talking about Aegon Targaryen who is still alive (though possibly an imposter). Or have I misunderstood?
Also Ramsay's letter is most certainly full of lies as at the end he says he wants his Reek back. But Reek is with Stannis, not Jon so he hasn't confronted Stannis. Some people believe that letter was forged by the Nights Watch. Also how could Reek have destroyed the Boltons with a word? I've forgotten.

Any news on book 6 ? or is George RR Martin not satisfied with torturing us from every possible favorite character dying and planning to make us wait until our deaths ?

He was witness to Jaine Pool being Arya. Right before that he was at the Godswood and heard a whisper (Bran?). Had he told the Northeners about the deception, they would have assraped him then and there.
I must have blended Quentin Martell with Aegon at some point in my rage.

Would the Northerners really have done something? Manderly is already not with the Boltons and Bolton's own men are loyal and not particularly loyal to the Starks. At the moment the Boltons have the power in the North at the moment so others will still begrudgingly still follow them.
Also I think it's unlikely Jon is dead. At the beginning of Dance with Dragons there is the skinchanger who wargs into his wolf after he dies. That seems sort of pointless if it doesn't come up again. When Beric Dondarrion and Cat were brought back they sort of lost part of themselves but as Jon can warg into Ghost he'll probably retain his "soul". I'm guessing Melisandre will be able to bring Jon back the same way Thoros of Myr brought Dondarrion back.

The cold preserves, fire consumes.
We could get some fancy mix of Coldhands and ZombieCat
edit: which then would turn out pretty normal, I guess.

I think in Theon's chapters it's heavily hinted at that they would tare the Boltons to shreds if they found out. Tarley doesn't eat the Boltons for breakfast because he doesn't have the numbers, imagine what he could do with all the North at his side.

Uh, we have a book thread and a TV thread, we do not need this thread I think.
