Now, what was the last book you read? I'm reading a saga which they're going to make into a series on HBO, I think. A Song of Ice and Fire. It's a series of books and I'm on the third one. haha, what the hell?? i'm not sure if this is interesting enough to bump this thread, but it was the last answer i was expecting while reading an interview of a world class spanish footballer.

Martin is a genius and to read the books you must realize that he goes to great depths in developing every character in the series from the lowly thug for 3 chapters to a main character spanning the entire series. The main characters I the series are those that read from their POV. So characters like Jon Snow are main characters, while characters like Ned and Rob are not since they die and never have a POV chapter. The book is a more mature version of something along the lines of JRR Tolkien but set in a more realistic universe of something from the Dark Ages, post Roman Empire era. The book being fantasy based also at times feels like a mystery or suspense novel due to the politics, subterfuge and such.

There are numerous characters, which could be seen as “Main Characters” who have POV and non-POV chapters. But the characters that have the POV are the main interests of the story and obviously the ones that sculpt the story and progress it. Also I believe Ned is the only POV character who actually completely dies.+ Show Spoiler + I mean his wife dies kind of but she come back and shit. There are a fairly large number of POV characters that end up dying within the currently released 4 books, all of whome but the one mentioned in the spoiler tags stays dead, I can think of 4-5 off the top of my head although their exact names escape me at the moment so I won't try and list them. One of my favorite things about the series is that he's not afraid to kill your favorite character.

Brianne is also not 100% dead, we only know she loses consciousness. And Gregor is somehow kept alive by magic or whatever. Too bad Red Viper does not survive somehow as well :D

I'm way happier than when the first GoT episode was released. We ALL know that the series is just to buy time for the fans of the books!
