Initially before I posted I hadn't read the PDF only the snippet you posted and it confused me. I've read it a bit more but it still doesnt make sense. This friendlychemist told DPR that he had a big debt and he needed the money. DPR said he wanted to speak to the guy he owed to. So friendlychemist passed him to the user readandwhite. Then DPR asks this user to murder friendlychemist. It makes absolutely no sense.

Real life breaking bad if you think about it. Gus would be proud.
JESSIE, TIME TO COOK.

Stop Silk Road, support the local market! :O

That murder text seems almost fantastical. I'm not sure if I believe a murder took place, or dpr just got conned for 150k

Score one for the mom and pop dealers who have to pay sales taxes. Addicts are just using them as a showroom lately.

Just taking out the trash. It's fortunate that the FBI wasn't shut down because of the incompetent boobs in DC.

dude used his real email with his real name on it for advertising the site , the only thing I'm surprised about is that it took 2 years to shut this site down, I know that they had to gather evidence and such, but 2 years?

My first thought was also about the MMO...i wondered what they did, some sort of scam or whatever....

I think you honestly need to take a breath then reread what I posted about fifty times because your reading comprehension is utterly atrocious. There is no mention of 95% of what you think was said, FriendlyChemist was threatening to release the identity of thousands of SR users so DPR put a hit out on him and looks like he was scammed out of 150k of bit coins because the police in his area have no record of a murder taking place in that area at that time and date.

Good thing they caught him and shut down the site, from the sounds of it the site was nothing but a cesspool of criminal activity.

^^^ (BlueLaterna)
You are both talking about the same thing.
Monk is saying it doesn't quite add up that friendlychemist would give DPR the name of the guy who wants money from him knowing it blows his cover. Then it's also weird that the redandwhite guy would go online to talk to this random guy (random to them).
Instead of insulting each other's reading comprehensions and condescendingly telling each other to 'take breaths' let's realize we are all talking about the same thing!

You need to consider the alternative though. If people can't go on SR, then they will try to find a drug dealer locally which can be quite hard. Whoever you come across is very unlikely to be trustworthy, and you have almost no idea what kind of stuff is mixed into what you are buying.
If you must trade illegal drugs, then an exchange with a reliable feedback system and secure communications is by far preferable.
SR was not perfect (not by a long shot), but it was by far better than driving into a "bad" part of town and looking for people on the street corners.
Also while people did buy very hard drugs on SR, I don't know if people who scored the occasional ritalin or adderall for studying, or a small amount of weed for relaxing with some friends are really that despicable.

Does anyone have a photo of his face? Or a profile of him? I know he graduated from Texas and he is 29. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/TPshRr6.jpg) thanks! No matter how you slice it, the irony of being arrested for hiring a hitman to commit murder given his self bio on linkedin is heady stuff.

I would rather they have the fear of ``going into a bad part of town`` so that they think twice before trying to buy their illegal substances and services.

I'm just saying that I do not believe it is good that SR was shut down, and I don't agree that it is "nothing but a cesspool of criminal activity." It was criminal activity, but handled in a far more civilized manner than drug dealing has been in the past.

Exactly. Just like police tolerate prostitution in the newspaper small ads but they arrest the girls/customer who do it on the street.

Handling the situation with finesse probably went out the window when they heard the guy was ordering hits on people...
