Filth is a movie based on the Irving Welsh novel, also known for the novel and its film Trainspotting) , of the same name. Like Welsh's better known work, Filth revolves around the drug addled and seedy aspects of Scottish society; the story follows Bruce Robertson, played by James McAvoy, as he attempts to make amends with his family through a mess of drugs, perversion, and general mental disorder.

The novel itself is one of the more graphic pieces of literature I have ever read, touching on police corruption, drug abuse, and prostitution. All of which fall under well familiar territory to those who enjoyed Welsh's Trainspotting and adaptation which detailed the lives of several heroin addicts in Edinburgh .
Directed by Jon S. Baird (IMDB) it seems the film version of Filth is trying to strike a similar tone of dark humor in with the more graphic scenes in the story (Serious, "I need to take a shower," kind of moments).
Even the trailer reflects a very upbeat and energetic tone to the story which intrigues me having read the book. I especially enjoyed Bruce's response to the question:
"Why did you join the force?"
Police corruption
"You wanted to stamp it out from the inside then?"
No I wanted to be a part of it
Note even the trailer is NSFW hence the spoilers
- -If you've read the novel or other Welsh novels, what do you think of the trailer?
-Would you see it based on the trailer alone?
-How do you think they will deal with some of the especially graphic portions of the novel?
If discussing possible spoilers, please tag them accordingly.
My two cents.

Personally I am most curious to see how they will deal with the parasite from the novel, and how/if they will even bother including it
It confused the hell out of me while reading the novel, at least while I was trying to sort through Scottish syntax. I am otherwise very excited to see how this turns out. Even though I will likely have to go to an independent theater to actually see it.
