Those were both really, really cool runs. I loved how much history and explanation went into each one, even if Cosmo's did... compress it a bit.
I've seen a lot comments on how these games are "poorly programmed". I actually test games for Nintendo right now. I've seen some pretty outlandish bugs (ask me about some of my Kid Icarus: Uprising finds sometime), but nothing as crazy as memory manipulation. Now, that doesn't mean bugs like that don't exist -- it means we didn't find them. It took 10+ years to find some of the OoT bugs, and Wind Waker is still in the process of being cracked. These games aren't poorly-coded, they're average. Give any game the sort of community and time OoT has had, and I guarantee it'll end up equally, if not more "broken".
Now, Flicky tiiiiiiiiiiime!

If anything it just shows how cleverly programmed they are. The games would probably feel a lot slower and laggy if these compromises weren't made.

Not really lag, more that they only had a few KB of RAM to work with, so every bit of memory needed to do something useful, often overlapping with other things (example: the Pokemon Old Man sharing data with wild Pokemon tables leading to the Missingno glitches) and they all needed to be very close in memory (example: cutscenes sharing room IDs).
Modern games can afford to have clear and separate variables for each action in the game.

Can we get flicky to get speedrunners to stream on TL?

Well, that's what he means, and considering it, he's absolutely right... the methods games from these generations use to conserve resources are absolutely brilliant sometimes and it's a testament to how subtle they were that people are only finding all the holes in them after over a decade of intense testing.

Woke up in time for Flicky ^^

Those holes aren't really even because of that, OoT probably could even be patched pretty simply even though I have no idea wtf is with the bugs and the bottle.
By the way I'm guessing Vergil wishes this was UMVC3

Sorry for the awkwardness on stream earlier, I thought I would be able to hold it together but failed hardcore.
But full story here for you guys. Basically my grandfather died before I was born from lymphoma, my grandmother had breast cancer at around the same time, and that was beaten. Then Granny got ovarian cancer my junior year of high school, I took care of her every day after school since she was at my house, so I was keeping her company, making sure she was safe in the bathroom, etc. She passed 5 years ago from that. I have been saving yarn that I took from her house afterwards and using it only for special things. Right now I'm working on a scarf for my fiance, which thanks to hanging out there is almost done. But that is the last of the blue. And I got to cut it using the master sword because there were no scissors.
On top of that I lost my aunt to some sarcoma last year that attacked her pelvis, and they were able to successfully excise it, but complications from chemo killed her. All of my grandmother and grandfathers siblings on that side have also died of cancer.
To us it is such an inevitable that my dad actually keeps cancer clothes in his closet, from when he was skinnier, so that when he gets sick he won't need to buy new clothes.
I'm not rich, I can't afford much, but I brought them snacks and food this week to thank them, and helped out Raelcun by keeping him company. I wanted to tell my story before I had to leave tonight, since I won't be back tomorrow because of a TL meet up at my apartment that I kind of need to be there for for some reason, and figured the long run would have some time to say it. Again, I apologize I thought I would be able to make it through the story, but as you can see I didn't even touch half of it. Sorry for making the stream awkward
EDIT: And now I broke this chat too, oops.

Nothing to be sorry for. Geniune moment that reminds everyone just how widespread and personal this problem is, and a reminder of what we're working to support is a great thing to have.
It's terrible that this has hit your family so hard, and I wish that were more rare, but hopefully this will become more and more rare as time goes on.
