This is a tragic event. Let's not derail the thread with a gun control debate. Posts from page 9 onward will be moderated for steering the discussion towards gun control. |

I've never been able to stand these people, but i've always acknowledged their legal rights, but this is just ridiculous. Innocent people were shot for enjoying a form of media. There can be no justification for their protests here.
And they will be kept at a distance forcefully, like the lunatics that they are. Nothing new here.

I mean, personally... I wonder what I'd do. If my son/daughter/wife died in something like this and someone was protesting their funeral (They'd probably be cremated but that's not the point) I think I might explode with rage, however ridiculous that might be.

What? On what basis? God hates Batman?
They don't have any logical basis for anything they do. Everyone but them is cut from the same cloth in their eyes, the whole country/world is wicked. You can't combat crazy with logic.
This whole thing is a nightmare, sad state of affairs when you can't even go to a movie without wondering what'll happen =/

I... never said you do? A political agenda or extreme racism are actually more common causes than mental breakdowns.

It would not be ridiculous, it would be very understandable, that's why the crazies won't get anywhere near the ceremony area.

It's really sad that something like this had to happen. Feel bad for the people who got hurt and there families. Tragic thing that happened and hopefully something like this can be prevented in the future.

Getting guns is too easy in America. i bet if it was illegal he might have cooled down by the time he got them through the black market.

They have since taken it down and thoroughly apologized, saying their PR team isn't US based, and didn't do the investigation that it needed to do

As harsh as it is, these kind of 'incidents' are becoming common and noone seems to be doing anything about it because 'you can't politicize a tragedy'.
Just look at the mod note above this thread.

Love the ignorance. At least they acknowledged it...
edit: Someone commented on one of the twitter saying they are donating 420,000 dollars to the victims? idk if money or monetary value of stuff (im guessing donating some clothing?)

Heard the news early this morning while at work, and only now have been able to sit and read through some articles about it. Very scary how close this hit to home for me. Had a friend who was at the cinema (though in a different theater) who had invited me to join them (I was unable to do to working early in the morning) as well as a Co-worker who's sister was also in the same building.
Makes you wonder how someone can do something like this for no apparent reason, though he apparently planned it since the articles say his apartment was booby-trapped with "sophisticated" traps.
Was glad to hear everyone I knew who was there is ok, but my heart goes out to those who lost loved ones or who were injured by this maniac.

At least they acknowledged it... It was a stupid mistake, don't go calling it ignorance. You don't know what's going on in every country. Bombs go off in other countries, kill 50 people and you barely even flinch.
And before I get jumped, I'm not defending them. Just don't go crazy because some underpaid employee failed at PR.

Djzapz is spot on. Just forget about it, it's someone who make a stupid mistake. Non issue.
You're kind of toeing the line there Derez. You can say it easily in the appropriate thread.

wow this is fucking terrible... I feel so bad for all the victims' families

Completely horrible lack of journalistic standards. The movie had nothing to do with it, except as a convenient time to maximize the number of people in the theater.
