In german it's called something like "I want my country back" [literal german title: "Ich will mein Land zurück"].
That is, if I'm understanding that site correctly because it's slow as it can get and I'm confused... and the video is not available anymore but the picture seems to be the same :p

They probably picked the biggest wackos in the tea party and interviewed them. They are largely made up of wackos, so I figure it wont be too far from the truth. I used to live in a rural area of the US that had a high proportion of "Tea Party" constituents and I can tell you that Wertherons description is not that far from the truth.

The Tea Party ARE wackos dude what are you going on about? They're conspiracy theory ridden, Fox News backed or influenced, mostly ignorant, life-lived-in-a-bubble, bootstraps-pullin' wackos who don't know what a source is outside of the Drudge Report, Glenn Beck, or Sean Hannity and very rarely do they make any sort of salient political point that wasn't already backed by the conservative media.
Edit: Also, the Tea Party is the birthing grounds for all of the "Obama is a socialist Muslim Marxist Kenyan is who isn't one of us and he's going to transform this country into something we don't recognize" sentiments.

What people think is the tea party are the wackos who have hijacked it and now get all of the media attention. The tea party has nothing to do with social issues or religious issues or anything like that. Anyone who talks about that stuff is not tea party. And Fox did not support the original tea party movement, except solely as a foundation to criticize Obama.

People talking about the tea party reminds me of discussions of when people talk about feminists. It doesn't matter if there's sane ones out there, people just go on hating on every one of them regardless.

They have said it seems overly polite and kind of fake sometimes but I think we now have a clear reason why generalizations based on anecdotes are bad. Experiences can change from town to town. 2 people can have completely different opinions of the same place after all. You could call them "non-GOP activists" but they are (edit: were) certainly Republican. The Ron Paul-ites who feel like the Federal Reserve is choking the world, that we're "printing money" in QE (lmao), that we need even less federal government when our national infrastructure is graded at a C or below and more private or state level involvement in things like education (an absolutely absurd notion to anyone wanting their children to have an education free of political influence, which is EXACTLY what happened in TX). All this while Ron Paul is a crook and has pocketed money from his own support groups intended to pay for travel costs.

i haven't followed the tea party closely but nowadays the term refers to a pretty well defined set of people, at least as well defined as political groups can get defined. they have some central ideas none of which is correct.
