Michigan has just been called for Obama. Thats a shame for Romney who was catching up in that state in final weeks.

Spin me surprised. There is no spin involved in saying the auto bailout nearly guaranteed Ohio and in general public money is much more influential than private money. That is a neutral statement. Zealotdriver just wanted to make a cute little attack. Doing a good job is more influential than private money - thank God! Still not gonna rest until we get some campaign finance reform though! It was obama who changed the campaign financing. There used to be state funding for the campaigns, and both candidates got to spend the same relativly small amount. Then obama thought (rightfully) that he could get more monney from donations and since then the monney spend on the campaign has gone up to 6b now according to cnn.
He saw get Kerry swiftboated by outside groups with practically unlimited money and said that shit wasn't going to happen to him by being hamstrung by only taking federal funding.

You know it is more complicated than that. I am not going to debate here the virtue of using the taxpayer's credit card to bail out specific failing businesses here. There is no reason not to bailout if: 1. There is a large ecology that is dependent on the auto industry, which will collapse if the auto industry collapses. 2. The industry is sustainable in the long run, having mostly short run cash flow problems.
Both conditions are satisfied for the auto industry, there is no reason not to bailout.
The bailout was good for Ohio, and it was good for the country.

I think PA has 21 electoral votes, OH has 20, and FL has 27, so they're all relatively close to one another... but is that extra upset enough of a boost to make it a close race again? It would basically make Obama taking OH a wash, right? And Obama would still have FL.
If Obama gets FL and OH I can't imagine a situation where he doesn't win. And I'd say he has OH given his current margin.

Naah, I feel pretty sure. If Florida is this close then Romney has pretty much lost.

At this point, Florida is pretty much in line with the polls.
Romney's gone. Better start writing that concession speech.

i think romney will win florida based on the swing of 2 to 3% per red county. blue counties are not swinging as much compared to 08 barring huge turnouts in the miami area
BROward CARRYING hard though

Im following along on CNN and if they awarded the presidency based on which color the majority of the map is covered in, Romney would already be President lol.
|
It's looking like Obama has won already.
|
Officially, Mr. Obama was projected to 49.797 percent of the vote there, and Mr. Romney 49.775 percent, a difference of two-hundredths of a percentage point.
Silver, on Florida.

Broward is still only 24% reporting and it has almost 50% pro-Obama margin. It singlehandedly swung the tally 340K last time it reported in due to misreporting.

That CNN map is the most unsettling thing I've ever seen. I could watch my dick sitting on the trip mechanism of a bear trap and feel more at ease.

This is including the states they should win.
(NV, CO, WI, IA, VA and NH would still be up for grabs)
PA has 20, OH has 18 and FL has 29.
