George Zimmerman buys $79.84 worth of items from jail store
George Zimmerman is cooling his heals in jail, where he recently purchased a collection of items from the Seminole County jail store to help pass the time.
The Miami Herald recently tweeted a photo of a receipt from Zimmerman's $79.84 purchases that included playing cards, puzzle books, and Jolly Rancher candy.
Zimmerman also bought socks, a debit card for phone calls, Ivory soap, underwear, beef sticks, t-shirts, deodorant, chocolate cookies, and one orange. The purchase left $41.36 on Zimmerman's account.
Zimmerman, 28, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Yahoo News has always been a joke in my eyes. Still, this is pretty ridiculous. There is so much attention on this case that people will click on any link related to it, so sites like Yahoo are passing off whatever scraps of information they collect as news.

I just watched it and even though it was said "fucking punks"on the affidavit but if you have ever listened to the damn tape, you would know that Zimmerman said "fucking punks" and "fucking coons". The "fucking coon's part was hard to hear and it was by itself. If you are trying to deny that was ever being said, then so be it. But it was on the tape, 100% fact.
Who says calls black people coons anyway? I mean come on, maybe backwoods hillbillies forty years ago. It's a laughable slur at most. I had a talk with a few black friends of mine, and they didn't even know "coon" was as a racist slur.

Edit- I'm not sure what you are even trying to debate here. It seems beyond silly to try to argue no one uses a particular racial slur anymore. Beyond that, it seems even more absurd to try and use anecdotal evidence to try and support it. A more reasonable argument given how the tape seems to have been edited over time would be to argue whether the statement was even uttered in the first place.

Why are you guys even debating the "coon" thing? Wasn't it shown that a media giant named ABC EDITED the material they put on their networks? Why even read any news article on this subject? They are all going to racially charge this matter with "white hispanic" and "black teenager". They don't need to say any of these words, except teenager, but they must put the race of both parties in every fucking article.
Even then, why debate who confronted who? No one knows what happened at all (except for one guy), and to say things are 100% fact just makes you an idiot. It's been said from both parties, however, that Martin knowingly confronted Zimmerman while Zimmerman was on his way back to his car. It doesn't matter what operater said on the phone, they have no power whatsoever. They can only give advice, and one operater did advise a black guy to go back to where he was being harassed by some white guys and they white guys fucking killed the black guy. Do any of you guys know about that? Happened like a week ago. Probably was motivated by the media giants needing to put the races of both parties in almost every paragraph possible.
It's funny the POTUS would say his little comment, "my son would look like him". Isn't Obama half white? Isn't there a chance any of his kids could turn out full white? Then the POTUS allowing the New N---- Panter Party to incite violience with their bounty. Only after the neo nazis publically came out in reference to this issue has any legal action been taken.

The media are definitely the real criminals here, even if Zimmerman is guilty. Murder is a serious crime, and I'm not trying to diminish its severity or anything like that, but the media has actively been misleading the entire country. Imagine if they pulled this kind of crap on something more important than a local criminal case, like say, a war? Except they have actually done that. Historians pretty much all agree the Spanish-American War was started because the media claimed (falsely) that the Spanish sank an American ship in a Cuban port. I suspect similar misdoings greatly contributed to the war in Iraq, but that's neither here nor there.
In short, everyone at ABC who was even tangentially involved in misleading the public deserves jail time, possibly quite a bit of it in fact, since deceit at this scale is practically treason.

Why is this still in the media? The guy has been arrested; that's all we really cared about in the first place. Now that justice is being served, I could give less of a fuck about a murder trial a thousand miles away.

That video reinforced some of my other thoughts on if Zimmerman was getting his head slammed into the ground, it didn't matter who was the initiator of the situation.
Will Zimmerman be able to fall back on the "traditional" self defense claim that Harvard professor talked about, since they are already invoking the SYG law, should the SYG law not hold up in the event Zimmerman did initiate and provoke the confrontation?

Pretty sure there is a maximum amount per month or something, you just can't have chocolate cookies and jolly ranchers all day in jail. That would kinda defeat the purpose imo.
