Never, but it would lend credibility to those saying Zimmerman was attacked. Zimmerman's defense doesn't need to find a strong motive for Trayvon, since you can just say Trayvon wasn't in his right mind when he attacked him.
It would also hurt the idea that Trayvon was a helpless kid. He was 17, so that should go without question, but the media keeps playing up the point of how young he was by pointing to that old photo.
I would say that it doesn't have any weight in the discussion, but the above is why other people might care.

There is alot more to the case than first appeared.
For one, the boy who got shot is not a 12 year old little kid(as the photo you see in the media would suggest). he's a 6"1 or 6"2 atheletic guy. the other one is like 5"9 and pretty pudgy. the kid is also not the little angel that the media is portraying. alot of the evidence points to him being in that neighbourhood ethier scoping out houses to rob or having robbed from that neighbourhood before. (was suspended from school for having a bunch of stolen jewelry in his locker in addition to marijuana(big deal))
The boy attacked him first, which is where the screams of "help help" on the 911 call come from (the kids dad even admits it's not his son screaming, changes his story now). not to mention that the witnesses say that trayvon was attacking him.
zimmerman or w/e his name is, has wounds all over his face and back of head. his shirt on the back was soaked with grass stains which also confirm that he was the one defending himself as the story goes to.
Apparently z-man approached the boy, asked him what he was doing there and was told to fuck off or something. then he walked back to his truck and the boy attacked him. z-man feared for his life and defended himself by shooting the boy. (i might be fuzzy on some of the facts)
The case is not nearly as clear-cut as it was when it came out, it seems like there are two victims in this report.
Now we're seeing that Zimmerman's story does not add up.
Trayvon did not have any injuries to his hands (so he most likely was not attacking) Zimmerman was said to have injuries on his face and a broken nose etc etc...He looks completely fine in the video.
Man I don't know what to think anymore... When this came out: 1) Oh wow how can he get away with this? 2) Then I heard all this other evidence, about trayvon attacking him etc etc.. 3) Now we're hearing there is more evidence to suggest that zimmerman was not exactly in as much trouble as we've been told.

Well he was caught with weed at school, and Zimmerman told police he saw a young black male smoking. Rather it was the same one, nobody knows.
I've looked through the posts on this forum and transcripts of the 911 call, as well as listened to it myself. How have I missed Zimmerman saying he was smoking or doing drugs? He had a can of tea, skittles, and Zimmerman says he had a hand in his wristband. Where does he say he was smoking weed while walking down the street?
You should be cautious before making up things to make the victim look bad, though if I did indeed miss this, I apologize.

No it was taken from the police report from when Zimmerman called in earlier that night (within a few hours I believe). It was NOT the same incident but has been in some sources linked with the fact that Trayvon was caught with marijuana.
EDIT : I stand by what I said we should wait until we see the actual autopsy to determine if Zimmerman's story will add up.
According to the Sanford police report on the night of the shooting, Zimmerman was bleeding from his nose and the back of his head when officers arrived at the scene. But the video, provided to ABC News by the city of Sanford, shows no obvious sign of blood or injury.

Wouldn't he get medical attention from responding EMTs before they brought him off the scene, ie to the police station?
He apparently did, but a broken nose requires a splint and bandages, as does a bloody and bruised head. If you were being beaten enough to necessitate the use of deadly force, you'd at least have a couple bandages on you.

I believe his point was that if you were beaten to the point where you had to shoot someone because you feared for your life, there would be some sign of swelling, or any injury at all.

Even then, wouldn't his shirt have blood stains on it? I don't think he would still be bleeding because as you pointed out, someone would have likely have treated his injuries. However, while the video isn't exactly HD, I don't see any blood stains on his clothes either. That said, the picture isn't that great and there could be some its just not visible to the camera.
Edit - As the two posts above me point out, given his reported struggle and injuries, one would expect to see some damage or at least some bandaging. But again, the video quality isnt great. So I could jsut as easily be wrong.

Well lets wait for the HD footage (and by that I mean when the FBI/friends get a hold of official medical notes/records of what he was treated for on the scene). If we are to believe it is wrong to assume that Martin was a criminal, we owe the same respect to Zimmerman.

However, this seems to be the most concrete evidence that's been made available to the public, and its pretty damning to Zimmerman's claims.

Concrete enough that you would need to show that Zimmerman, the police, the EMTs, and the eyewitness all got together to lie about what they saw and the injuries sustained.
Heard coons the first time I heard it because I was primed to hear coons. But ever since someone mentioned that the word could be "punks" it's what I hear every time now and it's super clear to me.
the problem i have with these modified, enhanced, etc. versions of the 911 call is that you can modify, etc. the audio to make it support your preconceived notions of what the person is saying. i have added a link to the original audio to the OP. i have not added modified versions because i have heard a few--none of which sound the same. indeed, someone posted another modified version on the first page of this thread and it sounds different from the CNN version.
if people disagree with me, i am willing to consider counter arguments.

I think that's a smart choice. The OP is really well laid out, and it sticks to the facts, and I like that. If we can't definitively prove it, then it probably shouldn't be in the OP.

I am still waiting for more information to come out. Though after reading on the SYG law in Florida, I must say I am totally against it. I've been burned before with the Duke Lacrosse players and the undercover Acorn Sting. Where when they both blew up everyone thought there was serious wrong doings and then a big old nope turns up, of course after all media attention had shifted to a new subject.
