Computer Elbow just claimed the left sleeve of my 4th Brooks Brothers Non-Iron dress shirt in a 6 month period, and I'm ready to change. I work at a desk and am right handed, so I'm sure it has something to do with picking up the phone with my left hand, etc.
I've done the usual steps such as making sure there's nothing sharp that the left elbow is resting on, getting my sleeve professional measured, etc. I measured at a 35 inch sleeve and tried moving up to a 36 inch to see if that changed anything. It hasn't ripped yet but it's just too long when I wear my suit jacket over it, so I don't feel this is the answer. It very well could be the detergent of laundromat I take it to, but I only wash my shirts every few weeks and the ones that just ripped I've washed maybe 3-4 times.
Doing some research it seems this is becoming more and more common with BB Non-Irons. So I need suggestions on either avoiding the dreaded computer elbow in the future, or other solid brands of dress shirts in a similar price point (less than $100 per). I live in NYC if that matters for availability of brands.
Halp! Wash it after every wear because the dirt that builds up wears the fabric down What else do you do with your left arm? It might also just be wear and tear (aggrevated by not washing it very often)
Also why suggest a lower end brand lol. I guess it would make sense to get a bunch of them bc they're cheaper but the same thing will happen faster
Just wash your shirts after a wear dude

I can't seem to find good fits anywhere- all the fits are way too long. I'm your average guy with a 28-30 waist, 5'8 height but whenever I try something it's like 6 inches too long. even international stores like uniqlo.
I ran into some money lately (relatives) and want to spend it in korea instead of exchanging currency and buying in america. any tips for this and know any good shopping places? I have been to dongdaemun and myeongdong so far and don't know much other good shopping places for men's clothing. Lots of places make things long specificlly bc people are different heights. If it fits fine in the seat/thigh the rest can and should be tailored. Uniqlo specifically makes only 34 inseams for example. Find a tailor.

Yo guys, can anyone tell me the brand of those glasses? Can't really read it. Thx in advance. + Show Spoiler +

Thanks, I think I found them on their website.

After lots of looking and comparing online trying to decide between using this Express coupon or just getting sweaters from Uniqlo I realized the true problem. Even if the clothes are the same quality, the Uniqlo models SUCK and the photo of our clothes are very unflattering. A lot of the stuff is a lot nicer in person and I still want to get the Express sweaters even though there's a 20 dollar difference in price. Damn I never realized how important this was aha.
Edit: So is this retailer doing only one length for pants thing new or something? So many people are like huh why only 33 length? I've even had a guy tell me "this store is fucking stupid, great plan only offering one length" when he saw that everything was a 33 inseam. It makes things so much easier in my opinion since they do get altered for free 99% of the time.

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a leather jacket, my first nice one. I've narrowed down my choices to TOJ DR, TOJ 4-zip Moto, Margiela 5-zip, or an Incarnation leather jacket. My budget's pretty limited so I am going to buy them used (but most are lightly worn or BNWT). Assuming they're all the same price (ish), which jacket should I choose? More specifically, I'm interested in what would be the best "value", what would you guys choose, what do you think I should choose, and why?
If this question is too broad and you need more info about me or my preferences just let me know.

Get what fits better
Uh idk i haven't seen it in many retailers, but it does happen.
i'd go with a toj but mostly because i dont know the latter brand

If you can get the Incarnation for the same price as a used ToJ, then go for it. I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews about Incarnation. They use Guidi leather, super soft and substantial, and the craftsmanship is stellar. They're made in Florence, iirc and not Prato, which is basically China in Italy. I'll edit with the link to the thread when I find it again.
Found it: http://stylezeitgeist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11371 Edit again: actually I remember reading that thread because it was more a discourse regarding the fine lines between inspiration, innovation, and derivation. you can still get a general idea of the quality of the brand though.
Anyhow, Incarnation's cuts/designs are a departure from the more 'normal' DR or 5zips that you seem to be looking for. Their fencing jackets are cool as hell, but I know some people aren't into that shit; if the design doesn't sit well with you then get something else.
I'd recommend against Margiela leather, but it really depends on the colorway and the fit. Margiela has a lot of shades for their leathers that are kind of hard to get in other brands, so if you're looking for something specific like that, by all means, ignore my bias and go for it. The problem you're likely to run into is that the stitching is kind of iffy on some and the leather quality is iffy as well.
Moto designs seem to be pretty dated and remind me of the 80s/90s but that's just personal taste - you can't really go wrong with ToJ at their pricepoint (300-500 used, 600-800 new).
ALSO! If you're buying used leather, be sure to ask if the previous owner smokes, or if the jacket has anything that's not a natural smell. Because you can't wash leather normally and care is a pain in the ass, smells seep into the jacket and they're almost impossible to remove as an amateur. Be sure to ask for measurements as well because outside of a leatherworker, traditional tailors usually decline altering leather garments.

man that greenish tint is so damn cool in theory, but I'd reserve judgement until I see how it looks irl. Either it's going to look like a dope reptile greenish tint on shiny beige maple brown or it's going to look like broccoli-turkey gravy diarrhea puke. Looks like trial by fire for you unfortunately, unless you can get it/return it.

Judging from the picture, that green is gonna be a big fucking no.

Hmms randomly browse things on sale, seems be feeling like picking up some knitwear for Fall/Winter along with some other random stuff. Been waiting for some stuff with more colour to go on sale, but no luck yet + Show Spoiler +
If anyone has ideas on hats, pictures are always fun. I guess with the view to go with the knitwear / that kind of smart casualish look.
As to the Incarnation stuff above, I thought this was the kinda green I dream of when thinking of leather (although not really a jacke I guess): http://www.farfetch.com/shopping/men/incarnation-distressed-shirt-jacket-item-10378809.aspx?storeid=9331 . Dayum though £2000 probably a bit much for just one bit of an outfit, but it does look really awesome.

I think alpaca and hemp are the best ones to wear. Hemp is great for the cold because it gets warmer the more hair a person has, alpaca just because it's really lightweight haha.
