I guess to narrow it down I'd want to pick out a peacoat and I can hold off on purchasing jeans until I hit the ~200 bracket. Or Uniqlo jeans lolol. It's about 30%, I'd be down to help out every now and then but usually we don't have that many sizes in store unless it's a brand new or really popular item.
I pretty much have a style in mind already, the very safe button down shirt+sweater/cardigan combo. I'm not sure what that falls under but I like how it looks and it's comfortable and practical as well. I guess for now it doesn't get much better than my Uniqlo stuff without spending quite a bit more per item but I'll lurk style forums to see what else appeals to me. I think I want to purchase a pair of grey and maroon chinos though. Add some variety and color aha. Any recommendations for sweaters?
Juliette: The peacoat you linked looks solid, I'll bookmark it and keep looking it around though. I'm not really in a rush and the longer I wait the more I am willing to spend (Sterlingwear ahaha jk). I think for chest size I'm about 33 or 34 but I can get measured by someone at work rofl.

can't help right now, i'm just about to start looking for sweaters :p. try to avoid cheaper cashmere i guess. I've found merino to be better than lambswool too. but as for anything specific, i got nothing. i have a couple penguin pullovers (lambswool) got cheap, and a merino cardigan and that's it.
are you in ny? blueingreen is there if you want to try on nice jeans. they're the only US brick and mortar stockist (aside from some shop in fucking minnesota) for pure japan blue, and i'm pretty sure momotaro. way above your budget ($400 or so) but you can at least handle them in person ;p.

I'm actually in San Francisco so I think I have a few options when it comes to nicer jeans. For now I'm gonna put that on the back burner and research more about knits and pea coats. I have one merino sweater from Express which is pretty nice quality merino. Maybe I'll get a few more of those in other colors. Since I do work in a clothing store I've spent a lot of time getting all up in these different fabric's business. Just from folding crap and things I purchased I know that I like better quality merino a lot more than cheap cashmere or anything else. Cotton blends are okay as well from a convenience point of view. Just throw em in the washer and not worry about it.

I ran into some money lately (relatives) and want to spend it in korea instead of exchanging currency and buying in america. any tips for this and know any good shopping places? I have been to dongdaemun and myeongdong so far and don't know much other good shopping places for men's clothing.
I know that some UNIQLOs in Korea offer alterations. Just ask for 옷수선 (Oht-soo-sun). It's probably between 5,000-10,000 won. I think Giordano and ZARA do the same as well if you shop there.
As for shopping places in Seoul specifically, try COEX (samsung station) and Garosoo-gil in Shinsa-dong. Honestly I think Myeongdong has pretty much everything that you could find in COEX and elsewhere. Garosoo-gil sells boutique stuff and it's always worth a visit if you haven't been there before.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Copped Norse sweatshirt . Nothing to shout about, I know but that's like 1/5 of my f/w list completed. So far I want:
- more suits - some sort of brown meermins, thinking these - chunky sweater - probably a merino sweater or something - trench coat, preferably a Mac
I'll probably end up picking up a few dress shirts too along the way just because I only have half a dozen I use now and I'd like to have at least 10 (although I have no clue where I'll store them though)

Alright TL, I need your help.
Computer Elbow just claimed the left sleeve of my 4th Brooks Brothers Non-Iron dress shirt in a 6 month period, and I'm ready to change. I work at a desk and am right handed, so I'm sure it has something to do with picking up the phone with my left hand, etc.
I've done the usual steps such as making sure there's nothing sharp that the left elbow is resting on, getting my sleeve professional measured, etc. I measured at a 35 inch sleeve and tried moving up to a 36 inch to see if that changed anything. It hasn't ripped yet but it's just too long when I wear my suit jacket over it, so I don't feel this is the answer. It very well could be the detergent of laundromat I take it to, but I only wash my shirts every few weeks and the ones that just ripped I've washed maybe 3-4 times.
Doing some research it seems this is becoming more and more common with BB Non-Irons. So I need suggestions on either avoiding the dreaded computer elbow in the future, or other solid brands of dress shirts in a similar price point (less than $100 per). I live in NYC if that matters for availability of brands.
Halp!

Don't know what their US pricing is like but Charles Tyrwhitt make the best OTR non-iron dress shirts in the UK, imho.

Just noticed N&F is on sale for sub 100 at Nordstroms. I was thinking about the skinny guy fit. Anyone have any experience with those? I read I should size down one so normally I'm a 29 in Uniqlo pants so I should get a 28?

I read I should size down one so normally I'm a 29 in Uniqlo pants so I should get a 28? I have the skinny tailored to DH measurements. For waist, take your TTS and go down two sizes. I'm a 31" TTS and a 29 fit me perfectly until they stretched, in which case a wash (around 8 months) brought them back in again.
They don't fade that well btw, apparently the people with really nice fades in N&F go bike riding in them or something. By nice fades I mean if you want really pronounced whiskers and combs and you don't foresee a lot of strenuous activities in denim, N&F is not the brand for you. LVC or PBJs are much better for faster, more pronounced fades.

Where can I get a white shirt that doesn't show my nipples? Preferably cheap.

At myeongdong I checked out giordano, zara, uniqlo, spao, beanpole, and codes combine. Most of the clothing were similar/the same and didn't see much that I liked besides some stuff at uniqlo and spao. Beanpole was just too expensive. I wish there was a jcrew in korea there were alot of stuff I wanted from there. anyways, thanks! I went to coex a few weeks ago and it changed alot from last year. The uniqlo is gone and alot of the stores I frequented are gone as well. Might try exploring coex again this week, it was way too crowded when I went.
Yeah a lot of the big stores should offer some kind of alteration service. But I can't imagine CO-EX having something that Myeong-dong doesn't have. I know that they were having some major reconstruction the last time I was there though. And I thought Giordano was pretty similar to Jcrew.
They should be having some big sales in Korea everywhere right about now. Also check out the duty free shops at the Lotte Department store (one in Myeong-dong) and maybe Shinsegae if they have one. You can only go in if you have a foreign passport though.

You could do Bonobos? They tend to be cheap and they are in your area.... quite cool folks and their customer service is great and they have a return policy that is unmatched!
