still looking for knits for f/w but not sure if this is too summery or not, might cop anyway because I want free delivery lol
how many sweaters do you think are too many consider I wear suits 5/7 days? 3? 4?
I also have this sweater my grandma gave me like 3 years ago but I think she got it from a golfing shop or something and I have no idea how to wear that :/

Too summery bc of material. Cotton/linen wont hold up unless you're in socal or florida
Hell i'd say 2-3. How many suits are in your rotation? Might be better to just get one of a warmer fabric, if it doesn't get too cold.
Get an overcoat :p

Sweaters have very long re-wear life before they need to be cleaned unless you dun fuck up eating. I'd say it's good to have 3 solid choices considering how often you wear suits. That way you have a little leeway when 1-2 are at the cleaners.
I'm a sweater person usually only wear a tux on formal occasions so I have 6 in my wardrobe that I use frequently throughout fall/winter. They're great for casual wear too, unlike suits for the most part.

Yeah I need a trench pronto - got caught in a summer downpour the other day and it wasn't nice. I'll start looking more closely this weekend - any suggestions? Most shops only sell parkas and peacoats :/

well you can just send them all off to clean at the end of sweater season or during summer and it won't be much of a problem
a trenchcoat or a rain jacket? what price point are you looking at?
I was suggesting something thicker :p. maybe a greatcoat is the right term, idk. but something longer but just as thick for the cold to put over suits so you don't have to stack a sweater underneath and sweat indoors.
ah fuck now i want to look for knits.

uh, sorry I didn't clarify - I want sweaters for casualwear and a trench (not a greatcoat, it's not like it goes below 0 much here in London) to protect my suits when I go to work. seeing as all my suits are from suitsupply I don't really want to spend more than the suit's worth, so probably £250-300. probably a stretch to find anything outstanding in that price range, but I like the SEH Kelly ones a lot

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh okay
theres a lot of sweaters in that range (unfortunately all out of my range .-.)
ill look for trenches and the like on some webstores i have bookmarked...
- ovadia and sons ( not quite a trench, it's cotton/indigo but it looks really good lol. also in olive. i really wanted this a while back) - wings + horns
why dont you just get a barbour ?

I remember looking at barbour and not seeing any actual trenches - they have nice coats and jackets but nothing I liked. what I want is a super minimalistic knee-length water-proof khaki coat - think mad men or sean connery as james bond or something

get a Stephan Schneider hooded jacket/coat
|
Should I or shouldn't I get a black/digicamo toj1 off B/S? Would be mostly using it as a spring jacket here in Canada.
Or should I get a pair of casual black shoes? Can't believe I don't have any yet, any recs for boots/derbies/high tops? 3-400$
|
I don't really think black shoes can be casual, but perhaps it's just me. Grenson have a sale on right now though.

found what I want - basically this in khaki - even though navy's very nice as well. now, if only I had £300 to spend on an item I won't wear for another 2 months :/

the black looks so pretty though...... i thought dries stuff runs higher too (although sale + EU lol).
phosej which do you need more? the toj is rarer so get that.

I'm looking for something to wear over a suit to the office - all of those are too casual (bar the third one maybe). They're also too thick and heavy - I want a cotton mac, not a woolen coat.

margiella, dior homme, burberry, and others make some pretty minimalistic topcoats but they're pretty pricy. could probably find a new-ish one on secondhand markets though, or get lucky with sales.

Oh welp lol.
It makes me want a chunky knit with a hood though....
