Unless you are a collector i would consider them a show off and definitely wouldn't wear one comfortably From the suggested ones i really like Tissot, and seiko/casio as well. And a few years back i spent a month reading some watch forum. I remember that seiko and casio were recommended as great watches for a price you pay...which is 50-200e. (on a side-note , they hated rolex and swatch with fiery passion xD) heres the forum i used a lot for basic research http://www.watchuseek.com/home
just remember those brands have different models and stuff so research the specific model you find too

GUIDIS NEXT ?????
i actually only looked at it the 1st time and then made my own
actually my next buys are, in order:
uniqlo undies/heattech/chambray more everlane tshirts flyknit trainers some kind of light rain jacket/outerwear. im looking at Levis, penfield, or isaora? but i dont know how much i want to spend so i can hold off on this till next spring.
then next summer: some indigo raw denim CPs (or SLPs)
oh btw the acnes fit TTS... i tried 29-31 and 30 was spot on
|
I already copped the ACNEs They don't taper enough IMO lol, probably going to get them tapered from the knee downwards from 6.5" to 5.75-6". Thigh, rise, and inseam are perfect though. I sized down to a 29 and even then the waist is about .5" too big even when shrunk. Too bad they don't make 28/34, but then again the thighs would be too tight at that size.
I'm going to get: - Devoa Charcoal Twist Seam Selvedge - Norse Projects/Ervell/Stephan Schneider/Geller/Rag and Bone/MMM pullovers - Julius Mohair Wrap-Knit - SL boots - BBS scarf - CPs - Aldens - KKA asymmetrical zip jacket - IndiSents coat/Julius Alpaca wool coat/Geller or Schneider hooded coat, or ALL 5 of em within the next month
time to prepare for the best seasons!
btw if you're planning to buy from Japan it's best for you to do it now while the dollar is still strong and yen is weak.

i have big calves so i was okay with it :p. im thinking about hemming but at 32 instead of 34 the stacks arent that bad.
hm im thinking about another knit, since when i'm done culling my only warm stuff that's not outerwear is gonna be a wool cardi, a lambswool pullover, and a cotton sweater (hoodies excluded). i want an Inis Meain but it might be out of my range.
what kind of CPs and aldens?
get all 5 of them, fuck responsibility.
|
Well I need pullovers/cardigans to wear over my button downs in the winter
I've been debating between Aldens and Grensons, I'm looking for whichever has a slimmer profile and it seems Grensons don't really fit the bill.
White achilles low, quintissential CP.
And I'd love to get all 5 but that would put me back 3kish rofl, maybe I'll cop one each month.
Problem is, I have a wedding to attend soon (2months) and I kinda wanna get a Dries suit & shirt. Or I can cheap it out and get something else from like H&M and donate after use. Is it just black and white only at weddings? Formal occasion uniforms and watches are seriously beyond me.
|
im thinking about which CPs to get... I kinda want something in grey suede because i'll have black/white flyknits in rotation eventually lol
use them as incentives to do shit you've always wanted to do but are too lazy for. cop one when you learn x skill over the course of a month of something.
you can do with usual office attire. navy/charcoal with the usual normal shit will be fine. depending on where it is you probs don't need a tie. just try to look less rigid than when in the office, since it's a celebration or something. don't bring a watch either, technically it's bad mannered to check your watch at an event hosted by someone (i mean you can if you want lol). unless you're in the wedding party there's no real proper attire, especially not these days.
|
white lows seem to be the safest choice as they're so flexible, even black ones don't compare to how many outfits you can pair them with.
I'm forced to learn shit anyways, or else insta-fire. buying shit is just to keep me happy amidst the grind.
oh I didn't mean I was going to wear a watch to the occasion, I was just referring to the watch discussion previously. I don't even wear a suit to work so it's definitely going to be more 'dressed' than the office, but definitely less rigid.
I think the one coat a month works pretty well now that I think about it, lol. The only other major decision left is which boots and what brand to get. Captoes or halfwing brogues and cordovan or dark calf or light calf
|
that's a good point.. hm. at this point i think i just want to replace my pf flyers lol.
oh nvm on that idea. go with the one coat a month!! get that feeling of gratification.
are the boots for work? what shoes do you normally wear? (and what do you normally wear to work for that matter). if you dont wear them to work, fuck it buy the Dries
|
yea, you can wear them with quite literally anything short of a dress or a tuxedo.
I might have to cut CPs out for a ToJ0 I just found. I think I still have enough flexible sneakers/boots to spread around?
Boots are for work. I wear anything to the office really. If I don't need to see anyone outside of my co-workers, then slim tees & tailored denim with a random pair of plimsoles. If I do, then it's cropped selvedge chinos & some pleb varvatos boots and untucked tailored ocbd, occasionally on colder weather with a highcollar cardigan. Honestly looks like I copy-pasted myself out of tryhard lookbook which is super annoying, but I guess people think it looks nice. If I try to wear a tie and an actual dress shirt I just look completely out of place, it's kind of hard to explain until you experience our work atmosphere; without revealing too much, I'm not strictly in banking/finance, more of a handson consulting/management/paper-pushing type of role. Norcal weather has been weird over the past month - blistering hot on some days and fall-weather cold on others. Global warming I tell you, Al tried to warn us about this shit.
|
gogo what's your current lineup of shoes. also toj0 is fucking sexy you should do it.
ah okay. if its only for work (since its brown and all and we know you stunt all black everything) i think halfwing brogues are better than a captoe. leather is up to you though, but it'll look more in place in that kind of atmosphere i guess.
didn't know you moved to norcal. you can proxy alex lolololol.
|
ugh my boots came and they don't fit idk if the boutique takes returns either, I may have to escalate to a dispute because they gave me random measurements ((
I'm also not sure if Aldens are slim enough either.

If you every buy stuff in Italy...make sure it's perfect. You can't return anything (unless defective) and exchange is your only option.
