If you're asking for a shoe that's not American to wear whilst traveling, you also need to give us the general outfits you're going to be wearing so that we can suggest the right brand and type of shoe. IE, freeruns are great but they don't go well with jeans, they're more suited for wear with shorts. well, unless Europe is weird and nobody there wears running shoes with shorts anymore. Slavic tracksuit mania hasn't gotten that far west has it?

I was thinking of something instead of a running/tennis shoe or sneaker. You guys seriously need to be more specific and give the proper background when you ask your questions. I'll be wearing pants most of the time (chinos / jeans) and maybe some non cargo shorts.

I don't really understand how a shoe makes you look more american though. I get what you mean about not looking like a tourist but your mannerisms will give it away just as much as your clothes. Get some hiking boots

Or 1400? http://www.newbalance.com/New-Balance-420/U420-SN,default,pd.html?dwvar_U420-SN_color=Blue&start=1&q=420&cgid=106000 Edit: Added link

I'm pretty sure the MA-1 is a lot more versatile and I might just save up for grail CCP fencing jacket if I really do want leather outerwear. But on the other hand those band collar double riders are pretty sweet, so.. maybe I should just flip a coin, lol.

My mother informed me that I couldn't wear black belts with jeans or with khakis and couldn't wear brown belts on suits. Does it really matter for jeans or khakis? The color difference really only shows when I wear a suit. Your belt should match your shoes. You can wear black belts with or without a suit, it depends what colour shoes youre wearing. I wear brown, dark brown and even walnut belts when i wear matching shoes with a suit, or with more casual outfits. The only time the rule for black only applies is for formal wear (as in black tie/tux).
