IMO start out with styleforum simply because the community is more receptive to new people and the website is easier/more intuitive to navigate/find stuff. Then, depending if traditional menswear gets too boring for you/not really your thing, start going to other forums. One thing you have to realize is mastering the essentials (simple tees, jeans, simple sneakers/boots) is paramount, even before the whole 'I want to find my own style' phase sets in. it's appalling how many people dress like shit (bad ratios/proportions, etc) and buy expensive items to show that they know 'rules' + Show Spoiler + match belt with shoes, don't wear brown shoes with black pants, blahblahblahblahblah | ||

also, try not to post when on styleforum or superfuture. lurk a lot, read a bunch of threads, and do a lot of research. most of the guys on those forums see a bunch of noobs post bad questions all the time. | ||
