I've been wearing my hair in a typical 60s businessman style. I don't like waxing or gelling it, but the day after washing it just looks awful. Is there an alternative to those that sort of... greases it up without actually being greasy. If you catch my drift. I've been using frequent combing with water throughout the day. Also, anything I can do about blackheads on my nose and cheeks? I know I'll still get spots for a bit (22) but just wondering what the best way to minimise it is. There's about a billion recommendations out there. | ||

There's about a billion recommendations out there. fashion is anything that deals with physical appearance so any questions about hygiene and hair are warranted in this thread. personally I don't have a problem with my hair but many people are advocates of no-poo. it sounds absolutely filthy but people swear by it, so it won't hurt to try it out. it doesn't smell because you're still rinsing out your hair every day so I guess it's just a mental thing to get over. some people wash their hair once a week, others use dry shampoo, others use vinegar and cider, and still others just rinse their hair with water. at least, that's what I think you're asking about? supposedly the result is hair that is both easier to manage and looks sleeker (read:shinier aka more oily) and healthier. otherwise, you're going to have to use any type of wax/clay/gel to achieve that look. as for blackheads, the obvious solution is to use cleanser and exfoliant twice a day. cleanse, then exfoliate with preferred brand, use toner/astringent if you want, and always moisturize with facial lotion at the end. hand lotion is for your hand, not your face. alternatively you could try using pore strips or a blackhead removal tool. there are also plenty of homemade remedies you could try, but I'd really only turn to those as a last resort. | ||

For face, get a dedicated facial wash AND scrub. There's a difference. Scrub has things in it, like microbeads, to literally scrub. Do this 3x a week or so. Wash is lighter, use every day, twice a day. Moisturize that bitch Also don't use things with salicylic acid unless you have a lot of zits - that's bad for yor skin For both problems drink more water. Lots of body problems come from dehydration (and sometimes bad nutrition) And don't feel like you'll ne crucified!! We're nice people!! | ||

I already wash my hair every other day. When I did it everyday it greased up after about 5 hours, It's a lot better every other for me. I've also gone with not washing it for a week and it was just a mess. I have a full-time job so I'm not trying it again. | ||
