I personally believe they should make AFKing a bannable offense, or at the very least remove all your PvP gear if you're caught, rather than just kicking you out and giving you a joke debuff. I'm pretty sure it is bannable if you get caught by a GM. I agree it sucks when you actually try to win and others leech, I have been there done that. But when you need to grind honor for multiple characters, some people would rather make it easier for themselves.

I've used some cheats on random publics in cs 1.6 and used bots in wow/tibia

I used to hack in combat arms...so many hackers in that game.

Never played any stat-based game, so never really had the occasion to use «small hacks» (automation). Never have been tempted by «big hacks» (maphacks, micro hacks, ...).

Absolutely. Runescape auto-wood cutting and a bunch of Maplestory stuff (god-mode, item vacuum, hitting everything on map). Although to be honest it never really payed out for me because I spent so much time updating the hacks and having to reset them when they crashed on my computer. I was also like 14, so I probably barely knew what I was doing.

Used aimbot in counterstrike source (on surf maps) because i got bored, kinda dumb and i got caught and kicked alot but i never got banned from steam, and i dont care much for playing FPS games "legit" so yeah, would never cheat in any kind of competitive game though.

I used hacks in a game called Crossfire when the first good hacks were out. I stopped using them after a few days, and got really good. I don't use them now, and I haven't for the past year.

About 10-12 years ago on msn zone I used hacks in AoE1. At the young age I hated losing and when the opponent brought out the Bigdaddy cheat unit we'd have a nice race car war.

Hacks and cheats are different things. some people hack just to troll, some people hack so they can be good at a game they'd otherwise be bad at, and cheats are usually there to make the game easier or more fun

It's talking about all multiplayer games. There's a ton of multiplayer games where hacks are pretty much a given and are used to make older games fun, not necessarily to hack against other people.

No. Not in online multiplayer, certainly not in any kind of competitive multiplayer game. The only hack I've ever actually used was Jamala's Hero Editor for D2, but that was just me fucking around on single player to see what kind of character I could make.
Cheat codes of course I've used, but again, those are single player.

i used a map hack with my buddy in the 6th or 7th grade, on the money maps before they had stacked minerals. we would cannon rush and i guess thought it was entertaining for about a week.
never used em since.

Where do you draw the line and say, "I'm acting worse than the cheater ever did"

What this poll also needs is an option of hacking a decent amount in the past, but just stopping.

Does map hack in Diablo II count ?
