I used hack once in a game using my smurf account because the next day a new patch neutralizing the hack would be released anyway, so that night I decided to play a few games with the hack just for shits and giggles.

I technically have, in Diablo 2, maphack and ran many a bot back in the day, but Diablo 2 hardly counts as EVERYONE hacks in that game.

I've used other peoples mods in Halo 2 custom games, that doesn't count either though. Would have been interesting to have my own modded Xbox back in the day but I was much more into the MLG scene back then, and I had almost 6000 games played anyway.

That is probably it I think.

I considered using a rapid-fire script for dual pistols in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but I was too lazy to learn to use it. I ended up learning to aim/shot people more efficiently with the submachine guns instead.

Only game I ever used a cheat code in was age of empires 2 for the exploding monkeys. Actual hacking always took the fun away from playing though.

Never used any hacks. Not even maphack in D2. Farming on HC with a druid without maphack/chicken script/whatever wasn't easy. That vanished one of the summers in between high school years.

Once I believe, but I mean it should hardly even count.. It was one of those text based RPG type things online for the iPhone (The kind of stuff you see on Facebook like Mafia Wars) I was bored and it was really stupid but I jailbroke my iPhone and opened up the games coding and gave myself x999999999 every stat, money, etc, and attacked the top players and won like 50 times in a row, got bored, uninstalled, and never really looked back.

The end.

BW: Friends and I played with a maphack in a couple 3v3/4v4 BGH games back in like 2000. We spent more time looking at our opponents' bases than our own and did terribly. Never tried that again.

CS: I played CS for years without ever being accused of hacking (well maybe once or twice). One day in 2001-2002 I downloaded a wallhack/aimbot and immediately got accused of hacking. I turned it off right then lol.

D2: maphack like everyone else, but I also ran bots and duped items on USEast.

I guess I haven't hacked in 10 years, although I have written some greasemonkey scripts to automate tasks in various browser games.

In maplestory I hacked the delay out of my attack animation, so it would attack every key press (or at a speed greater than what registered on the game if i held the button). This was years ago, though.

I've never hacked at any other online game, but I am a shameless cheater when it comes to anything offline.

Cheating, or hacking in an online gaming, is something I only do if it improves my own enjoyment. I'd hack an MMO if i thought I could consistently get away with it, and it improved my overall enjoyment. I wouldn't use a hacked character in any of the competitive features of an MMO.

Heh, I got lucky with my lack of reading the poll before answering... That'll teach me to attempt to browse TL in a half-awake state. T_T;

I only used hacks once way back when I played Unreal Tournament online(I'm talking eight or more years ago) because I kept on getting in hacked lobbies, so I decided to try to fight back... Didn't work out so well. x_x

Often with games like Fallout/Elder Scrolls/other such games I use skin packs, health hacks, console commands, the whole sha-bang. I get bored of those kind of games fairly quickly, and that's usually the best way for me to keep things exciting. ^__^

Sometimes I hacked in MapleStory, but that was a while ago and I've gotten tired of the game now. Other than that, no, I've never hacked in any other video game and I doubt I will again. It's sort of risky (some hacks contain viruses) and a waste of time unless you know what you're doing.

Had to maphack in D2. At least one in your party did and if you didn't, you didn't know wtf to go. Also botted in D2 for a little while till I got out of it. Manually tried to get SOJs, but it was nearly impossible.

Not really, in halo 2 I had to deal with modders and secondary standbyers so I would have my friend force host on me and than if we ran into cheaters I would standby them so we could get the win. I don't think that counts as hacking but since it is cheating I will put it on. Only used it against other cheaters would be funny to hear them rage when I did it to them other than that no, I don't find any enjoyment in that.
