Can't believe that they would even consider these bills, but I'm sure worse bills have been introduced (and passed) A similar bill was brought up last year. http://www.fsf.org/blogs/community/the-internet-blacklist-coica-is-back-take-action-before-thursday

Pissing off EVERY single nerd in the US all at once by doing one simple thing... I pray to god this bill doesnt get passed and if i does, ill be taking a detour back from providence.

Joking aside, there is a severe misunderstanding of what the internet is with the current generation that is in power. They don't get it, and quite frankly they never will. Keep your fingers out of our pie please ^_^

To clarify - COICA (Combating Online Infringement Copyright Act) was introduced last year, and failed to come to vote. It contained many of the same provisions as PROTECT-IP but was even more broad and vague. PROTECT-IP (some long contrived name for the sake of abbreviation) is the Senate version of the internet censorship campaign. Made it through the Senate Judiciary Committee and was blocked by Sen. Wyden (WA) before coming to vote. Will certainly be voted on soon. SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) is worse than PROTECT-IP, as it basically encourages ISPs and hosting providers to proactively censor and monitor internet traffic/content, and provdes them full immunity from liability in doing so - Even if they put someone out of business because of reckless censorship who wasnt doing anything wrong. Oh, you mean like Napster?
