I still use the Windows Classic theme on my "totally blinged out" gaming rig. Although the newer themes provide a more pleasant experience visually, I do this because I want higher FPS in-game for CoD4 and other games that I play competitively, despite the theme change only causing said frames per second to fluctuate between 3-5.

By your logic, I am "dumb as shit".

Actually by that logic you are one of the intelligent people optimizing that aspect of your life.

These results are bullshit. A 40 IQ difference between IE/Opera?
The average IQ of an Opera user is on a genius level while the average IQ of an IE user is extremely below average? I honestly doubt that these results are true/legit.

It could be that NesTea happens to not use IE, thus completely broke the results in favor of non-IE users. With an IQ that high it's no wonder the average as a whole is a few points higher.

As much as I hate people associating IQ with general intelligence, never mind their choice in internet browsers, the stats seem pretty interesting. Did they say how skewed the sample was? How many IE users were there compared to the others? They didn't release seperate results for individual countries did they? Unless we know more about the study in detail, I remain doubtful that there's any worthwhile conclusions to be had here. Still, people just can't resist sensationalistic headers right?

while its evident that this study is kinda bs i really like the results. I have always found IE inferior and it always bothers me when i see someone using it. However, people are resistant to change so its no wonder some people don't change their web browser.

Not all research/studies were created equal. It's not a scientifically designed study and doesn't mention anything about possible confounders such as age of the person, the generation they are from, their cultural background etc.

It's easy to to say, oh look I did a study that shows that people with lower IQ use IE more often and then equate that to 'dumb people use IE,' but correlation does NOT equal causation.

The graph you are using represents the data in a deceiving way. There is a graph of browser usage% by IQ percentile. It clearly shows that in the higher IQ levels the usage of firefox and chrome goes way up above any other browser.

When i used internet explorer when i did a IQ test on the internet i got 110. When i switched to Chrome and did the same test i got 116.

I don't think its that weird. IE is the browser that is always already installed on the PC. The 'dumb' people don't know how to download other browsers or think that there maybe a lot of risks involved, that's why they refrain from downloading and using other browsers. Don't need a study to figure that out >.<

IE pisses me off. When a tab fucks up (which is pretty common) I kill the process and then IE automatically recovers it and fucks the whole thing up again.

I got sick of this and downloaded IE9 recently. Same thing happened and then the next time a tab fucked up, it BLUESCREENED ME.
