Why does the options have to be either "revolution of the entire planet" or "fraud?"
I can think of many more likely possibilities than those two...

to me the obvious choice appears the first, even though I believe the poster is attempting to make the latter the apparent.

The last article linked says he is demonstrating on Oct 28th?
So we will know if it's a fraud then or..?

Out of interest, people are stating how this form of power generation is ridiculously sustainable and efficent. From what I've seen the 'fuel' for the box is nickel, plus presumably a bunch of moderately priced catalytic gubbins. The output is copper, which is itself not a bad thing given how valuable copper is these days. Beats CFCs and carbon monoxide, at least.
So the question is, do we actually have enough nickel(both absolutely and practically) to support a large outrolling of this sort of power generation? I'd guess so since if this is a true nuclear reaction then it's got to be hella efficient, but I might be mistaken. Further, what are we looking at in terms of infrastructure/maintenance and so forth. I can't see a cold fusion reactor being a no-maintenance device, so some of the claims I'm seeing (every home will have its own little nuclear reactor yo) seem a little audacious. Further, this sort of reactor doesn't seem to be one that produces incredible amounts of heat, more a constant but fairly low power output, which means that running high energy output devices off it like a car or plane won't be viable. For cars that can be solved with batteries and so forth like already exist, but aircraft will still be reliant on fossil fuels since running a jet engine off a battery is... not a good idea.
Let's actually looking at the specifics and how thinks might work in a post cold-fusion world. I'm incredibly skeptical that this is as good as it sounds, but I do like to consider the possibilities and problems in any case.

Quick search reveals the following about Nickel:
Nickel makes up about 0.01 to 0.02 percent of the Earth's crust. It ranks about 22nd among the chemical elements in terms of abundance in the Earth's crust.

Seems abundant enough.

which? if we really have the possibility of low temperature fusion, we will be able to create tons of energy of not that much fuel. also, we'll probably find other application of this physical effect (if it's actually low momentum neutron stuff or whatever that is).
so no, there are just the two options. a) fraud. b) entire world is changed in the next 5-10 years.

does anybody here consider buying stocks of that company which bought the rights? might be a good investment. or a fail investment
|
Depends how risky of an investor you are. There isn't exactly enough evidence to say if it's real or not.
Just have to wait for the the initially sold ones to go online.

There are no investment possibilities at this time. AmpEnergo (Rossi's company) is not on the stock exchange afaik. The contract with Defkalion GT was canceled, so they don't hold any rights. They claim they are building their own e-cat technology now, so they apparently stole the tech, but they haven't shown ANYTHING at all. Expect nasty lawsuits between AmpEnergo and Defkalion. It would be extremely foolish to invest in them, especially considering they're a greek company.
The other competitor, Prof. Piantelli, is working with a company called NichEnergy, but he's nearly completely silent and refuses to go public until his tech is further refined. He could turn out to be the best bet though, since he claims to have complete understanding of the physics occurring, which means he could build the biggest, safest and most efficient reactors.
The machine Piantelli uses to prepare nichel at nanometric level for use in his cells:

While none of this proves the tech is real, it would certainly be silly if these people were competing for a fraud or something that doesn't work.

yea I'm not talking about buyin stocks right now, but as soon as this gets real, proven and possible a quick reaction might actually make some money...
I still think this is too good to be true. but I have like 65% hope. also, why is there no coverage of this stuff? I don't get it. Even if this is fake, it still seems like a good story to cover...

No need to, buy nickel. If this really works you make quite some money, if not, you still have nickel. It doesnt even depend who makes the better device, both use nickel .
Who made most out of the gold-rush? The guy who sold the shovel .

but I hope it's true of course! Already we see that a lot of people enjoying "too much freedom" grow more and more stupid each day. Each generation seems to be more stupid than the previous one in all western countries. My simple question is. How stupid will the 28 billion retards be in 2050 if this turns out to be true ?!?!?
Exactly. My simple question is.Who gave You "so much freedom"?

Average IQ is said to increase by roughly 3 points per decade. See Flynn effect.

Everytime I see this thread I get a little bit excited, vintage Rossi in here.

Today the 1 MW plant will be tested more or less independently by the so far unknown customer. I will update the thread when important info becomes available.
It appears that a reporter from the Associated Press is present as well. Mainstream news are finally showing interest.
Let's hope this is the real deal.

Let's hope this is the real deal. Thanks for at least keeping the TL community apprised. I've been watching the scientific journals without much luck. People recreating his methods, but getting far less energy gen. The real test is this customer: does he get the advertised energy readout?
Rest assured, if this works, if the consumption of Ni is according to what's been said, this is revolutionary. Cheap power, no harmful toxins / air pollution / highly radioactive nuclear waste generated.
