News are just reporting that a second guy has been taken away by the police from the hotel where the survivors are being held. Reprtedly for possesing a knife, but the police is also looking for a second gunman that several survivors are reporting having seen on the island.

Everyone calls the US stupid for having such a high defense budget, but honestly, when do things like this happen in the US? Columbine? Not comparable. Virginia Tech? Still, not comparable. I just think there's no excuse for the number EIGHTY fuckin SEVEN lives lost. Sorry to sound rude. Add to that the fact that this man planted bombs, and acted all alone. Police fail if I've ever heard of one. 87 lives lost an an very very small island. Unless you directly put a view security forces or people with weapones there, there is just no way anything can stop a crazy person from doing what this guy did. Has nothing to do with taxing or high defense budget. I mean isnt this just obvious? Or how exactly does the USA handle a guy with a weapon and the will to kill people. He just goes somewhere where many people are and no one ever expects a shooting. What can you do? Its just not stoppable unless you want to live in world of total observation or worse. Seriously. Kinda makes me angry to read your studd which just makes no sense.

Your post, while it may have valid points, is completely out of line and is pointlessly offensive. You have no right to undermine the lives of these teenagers by comparing their murder to a completely different tragedy. I just wanna say that you obviously don't have any clue what is happening in Africa right now.

This man set the bomb then went straight to the Island. When he got to the island, that's when you should have flown in the swat team or whatever you people have over there. 87 lives lost an an very very small island. Kinda makes me angry to read your studd which just makes no sense. We do it all the time. Maybe not with this many people involved, but we send out swat teams to talk down hostage situations like every day. All i'm saying is there could probably have been more done.

According to Spiegel Online, the gunman acted as if he was police while still on the mainland, showing his badge-thing (don't know what exactly they have in norway...) to some security guy. The article states he carried a cevlar and two weapons before heading for the island by boat. http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/0,1518,776079,00.html

I'm talking response time, and effort. There seems there was little. This man set the bomb then went straight to the Island. When he got to the island, that's when you should have flown in the swat team or whatever you people have over there. So you guys can't have psychics but Norway should? Do you even understand the events that took place?
