Btw do you have preventive detention in Norway?
That would be the best sentence after the maximum number of years in prison I can think of.
I think the guards will make the rest of his life a living hell and no laws have to be bent and no exceptions habe to be made.
Nothing suits me like a suit.

Norway has a law which allows to keep a prisoner in detention if he is danger to the society, if im right?

This is the best sentence if they cannot make an exception. But he won't walk away, thats for sure.

Yes, if he is deemed unfit for society he will not be let out. But we uphold human rights in norwegian prisons, and the aim of our prison facilities are to rehabilitate. If exceptions are made, then what's the point.

Dude, this is not Hitler-jugend or North Korea. The youth organizations of our political parties is nothing more than idealistic youngsters that are engaging in learning about how democracy works.
The right to free political assembly is at the core of any liberal democracy, and i take offense that you make this accusation.

This has been discussed. Our system of such prevention is called forvaring, and you can google it or search for it om these boards.

yes we do, that's "forvaring". We can keep him locked up if he is deemed a danger to society.

This whole thing is utterly disgusting.

Is the point of not letting him out still to rehabilitate him? Isn't that the point where people can never be integrated back into society?

His case will be reviewed every five years or so. Once he is deemed not a threat anymore he may be let out. But it seems highly unlikely for anyone this crazy to be rehabilitated imo.

The answer to your question is in your quote.

"Yes, if he is deemed unfit for society he will not be let out".

The goal is still to rehabilitate.

Well I would like to learn more about what is exactly so joyful as Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store, a Labour Party member reported. It is a partisan camp so dont bullshit me about learning just about democracy.

Please US ppl, you have no idea about the this legal system. Its just not about "eye for an eye". And its proven pretty effective in europe. Stop wasting a single thought on this fuckin moron.
Killing him wouldnt bring anyone back to life. His aim was to change the liberal views of norway. Dont give him the pleasure to do so.

There is a big IUSY-festival next week in austria, many young socialists from norway wanted to come. I feel so terribly sad. I know some of them and hope they are ok.

By destroying this man, executing your own vengeance and thirst for it, is a terrible solution. This man, Anders Behring, must be in extreme pain to do such things, he is already in hell.

Do not destroy yourself by having thoughts of vengeance. I hope we in Norway can find a good solution to this, and why not try to rehabilitate him if we think its a slight chance of posibility?

I hope we can find peace in all this, and not fall into the trap of fear.

The 21-year prison is a part of our ideology and what Jens Stoltenberg called "being Norway". We cannot make some excuse because this action is atrocious. Our prison system tries to make people able to go back to society after going through loads of procedures making people able to do that.

I doubt even our system's gonna work on this guy, however, and for those cases, we have the "forvaring"-thing people have spoken about.

In my eyes, Norway's system is the best system, and we will show that it will work - even now!

Really, why is one allowed to post THIS in this thread?
That's more than disrespectfull. Whatever political views you have, can't you just leave them ANYWHERE ELSE? People are exchanging news about these heartbreaking events, mourning. And you? You dare to question the youth's intentions, participating in the camp? WHAT?
