I don't feel like translating all of it, but here's an extract: "A man came. "I'm from the police". I kept still. Some yelled that he needed to prove it. I can't remember exactly what they said, but the killer started shooting. He reloaded. Fired some more. He shot those around med. I kept still thinking "It's over. He's here. He's going to take me. I'll die." People screamed. I heard others being shot. Others jumped in the water. I kept still. Phone in hand. (...) I acted dead for at least an hour. I carefully turned my head, looking for suvivors. I saw bodies. I saw blood. Fear. I decided to get up. I had been lying on a dead body. Two dead bodies had been lying on me. I had a guardian angel." ((Englevakt, directly translated meaning Angel Guard, is a common norwegian expression meaning that you've been incredibly lucky.)) I'm currently translating this in it's entirety, some of the most gripping/disturbing stuff i've ever read. Yeah, so disturbing. How I was praying for him to find his best friend. Also feels so surreal, that in such a situation one would update twitter and FB. Such a moving blog!! Still crying alone in my room.

Wasn't death penalty for treason removed during the 60s?
Making any political change might actually give the lunatic more pleasure. He's a right-wing extremist targetting the youth of the labour party. Political change is probably his goal.

This is some seriously sick guy. Eye-witness says the following:
"The first thing the shooter did was to shoot the first cute girl he saw"
So this guy goes to some youths who are having a peaceful political conference in Norway to shoot over 80 of them, and he starts with the cutest one he could find.^

A lot of countries that don't have a regular death penalty, still have it for treason (mostly in wartime). This act, however damaging it was to Norway as a country, does not count as treason in any way though.

If anything this would just be a victory for that guy. Other people said there are rules to keep people for him locked down forever. I'm sure that they will make sure he does not get out again. Ever.

No we don't, it was abolished 32 years ago.

Death Penalty has been abolished in Norway, that option is not in any way, shape or form on the table.

I have a feeling he wont last long in prison. How is the security in norwegian prisons? Is it common that people get killed in prisons? The price on this guys head must be huge.
I'm not hoping he gets killed but i think its a big possibility that he will.

Give me a good reason why we SHOULDN'T execute this man ASAP?
Yea, interrogate him, learn what you can, THEN maybe destroy this man. Every moment he is a live, is a disgrace to the human race, so much media spectacle about it. Just kill him and be on the way to recovery.
And to the people saying revenge doesnt change anything yayadadadada.... FUCK YOU.
Tell that to the 90 families of dead people now... just shut your mouth, you're being disrespectful.
There is absolutely no good argument as to WHY we should let this mass murdering fuckhead live another day, other than to maybe torture him and set and example. (partly kidding) but still.
The worst part is, he will now live in prison for only 23 years since this is the max sentence in norway, and he will probaly get to release books and articles on why he did it .. and shit..

A friend was at the bomb site yesterday, but is all right. It's hard to imagine that he could just as well have died. Waked up to the revided death toll this morning. What kind of person have it in him to kill so many?

My condolences to all victims and their close ones

A little weird that there is a camp to indoctrinate such young kids in partisan politics. Probably makes them feel all self-important that they can change the world through politics. They can right all the wrongs through government action.

Also some people's comments on this serialkiller-site are very disturbing. What the fuck is wrong with such assholes? When I heard this, I doubted that it was AQ since it's not their usual "pattern" to do such things at such times. These stories are heartbreaking, I'm glad that they made it out alive.

Because that was the aim of his attack.
You idiots need to stop asking for his death. Effectively, reinstating the death penalty is him achieving what he aimed for, making the liberal policies of norway be reconsidered and swing more right wing.
Norway does not want to let him win and it's a damn good thing they don't. It would be a disgrace to the memory all those who died because of his actions, left leaning political activists, if the laws were changed to be more conservative/right-wing for their sake. They wouldn't want that, and Norway is right not to.

They should right the wrongs through killing people instead, right? What's your problem?

Well for one thing, it degrades ourselves to kill people, no matter how just it is. Another thing, his reasons are political. Making him a special case and killing him basically proves a little of his 'cause'. And honestly, just because people don't share your opinions on vengeance, doesn't mean they are disrespectful in any way.
And please read the OP. It's highly unlikely he will be in jail for any other time than the rest of his life.

Aside from the fact that killing people except in self defence is wrong, this guy was a right-wing conservative whose crimes were aimed squarely at the leftish government. He's probably more opposed to Norway's liberal prison regime than you are.
Refusing to change a single thing about how they attempt to rule Norway would be the best revenge they could have on this guy. It would be a way of saying that THEIR way works and that this loser will have just pissed away his life for nothing.
