Water is wet only if you touch it. Question: What is the meaning of life? Does it make sense to look for purpose of everything?
Water isn't wet to the touch when you're on shrooms. It just makes your hand shiny. Answer to the meaning of life: 42. Obviously. Answer to why doesn't water burn: It is wet. Duh.
Question: Why do family/roommates not care if they make a noise and wake you up?

This. Also lot of people light their farts on fire. Also there is infrared video of a fart.

I am pretty sure that statistics are made by people who are either paid for making them or have an interest in making them and therefore represent the interest of the one who made/ordered it. Still I doubt that most of them are fundamentally false, as proving that would discredit the institute that made them.
That being said ofc there are "tricks" like small numerical (<5%) "errors", splitting up big parts into smaller ones so they dont seem as big, using % values and numerical values depending on what you want to represent and so on.
I'd like to believe that science is contributing to the 13.5%. "science" in advertisements though is... umm... fun?

In some cases it is. If you burn fat in a pan and try to extingish the fire with water, the water increases the fire. i guess its the molecule structure, which makes water the "counter" to fire in most places.
For example take dust. Its not burnable, yet there are dust explosions under specific circumstances, where dust can burn (and explode by energyrelease). flour dust is famous for being dangerous cause of explosions.
...me science english. :/
Just a note on the water in oil (or any flammable liquid above 100 degrees) thing: The water is not burning. What happens is that the burning oil is above the boiling temperature of the water, so the water immediate evaporates (explodes) on contact with the oil, spraying the oil all over, and the oil droplets, having a larger surface area, will vastly increase the rate with which it burns, giving a fireball effect.
Also, with a lot of metals that interact violently with water in the first place, setting them on fire and then placing them in water creates some pretty nasty chemical fires.
Is it tacky to put a rug on top of carpet? Just got a new apartment with my girlfriend, and she has this 8X6 or so blue rug. The apartment is carpeted with this cream colored carpet. She wants to put the rug somewhere in there anyway, on top of carpet. I think this is tacky. She thinks its fine.

There ya go. Stupid question. Help a brotha out.
It serves no function, and I think it looks pretty silly... But if she really wants it I don't think it'd ruin all that much.
I also did a quick google search, and it turns out that it's pretty hard finding pictures of a rug on a carpet, so clearly it's not very common and when people come in they'll probably judge your lack of... style. But meh. If you spill something by accident, then it'll be on the rug and not the carpet, which is better I guess.

When hydrogen and oxygen react to form water, they evolve a lot of energy. So it is an exothermic reaction. Fuel cell works on the same principle.
When a particular reaction is exothermic, the reverse reaction is always endothermic. This means that decomposition of water by any means (Electrolysis or combustion) must be an endothermic reaction. However, all combustion reactions are exothermic in nature as combustion releases heat.
The simple reason why water is inflammable is because its decomposition REQUIRES a lot of energy, which is not possible in case of combustion.
While that's a fair answer, it's an overly complicated one. The short answer is, that water doesn't burn, because it is basically ashes - from hydrogen-oxygen fire. This is generally a simple way to guess materials that are not going to burn well - those that can be cretaed by burning somethng else.
Hi guys! Last Weekend there were some amazing Starcraft Highlight videos published by WCS Starcraft. They were splitted into two videos: Day 1 and Day 2:
I am sure you share my opinion that they did just an amazing job, I love these kind of videos, especially this one. Just a great movie. That's kind of a movie I definitly show to my "Non-Starcraft-Fans"-friends. Well done.
After spending some time at searching for the music that is used in this two videos I got a really desperated, cause I didn't find the songs, as well as some of my friends didn't! In the commends of the youtube videos were no information either.
Can someone help at finding the song names of these videos?

It does serve a function. It protects the carpet. Not just from spills but also from wear if it is a walking path.
