I'm at home right now and probably for a few months. My PC and my brother's PC are in the same room and there really isn't any way to move my PC anywhere else. I want to stress, I don't know what's wrong with me but I love, love, LOVE quiet. And distracting sounds piss me off to no end. I can't concentrate on anything if there's distracting sounds or voices around me. It used to be that my brother would rarely be at his PC and when he would be, he'd be quiet, for the most part, or he'd play multiplayer games for maybe 2 hours and leave, so I'd do what I needed to do around him... If I needed to do work or school stuff, I'd stop when he got here, and start again when he left or stopped talking. What was annoying is when he played diablo 3 though, because even if he didn't talk much, he slapped his left click like there was no tomorrow. Now he bought ARMA3 and he plays it with friends, and IDK how is frineds deal with it but he's talking nearly nonstop with some second-long breaks to let his friends talk. From my perspective, it's like a continuous monologue that literally goes on for hours and hours. At the end of my semester, I told him to be quiet because I needed some quiet time at my PC to do work, now I don't have a fucking excuse. So he's yapping away, and I can't do shit about it. I can't tell him to stfu - especially not since I myself talk a lot when I'm gaming with friends and so this entire rent of mine is hypocritical. Now I can't wait to leave again but until that happens, fuck my god damn life... holy shit, I can't read on my PC, I can't read books here, I can't watch TV shows or movies, I can't get the last bits of work I need to get done before the end of the holidays, I can't play games properly... on CS I'll miss some sounds and get owned and then someone will be like WTF ARE YOU DEAF... yeah essentially.... I don't know what to do now. I can do music for a time, I have headphones that block out some of the sound, I can go away for some stuff... but when I'm here I hate everything. 1st world problem to the limit, but it's fucking with my head big time. Just this is making me want the holidays to end. I want to fucking leave this place so bad but I can't for a few more months. | ||

Hey it's me again surprise! Does anyone even read when I post? It's all the same shit. I'm just having another one of my moments where I feel like human trash because I lost in a video game a few times again. Ironically, the fact that I get so mad is what makes me so trash not the losing itself. For some reason, I just feel the need to let as many people as possible know when I feel like shit because I want people to know that i"m a pathetic waste of skin. Still not improving at this game, nothing knew, I dont' learn from mistakes etc etc and I keep dying to gold leaguers in embarrasing ways. I'm sub-gold, I don't even know why Im in this league. Seriously, how do people still have a problem with interracial relationships?!? I (Black) went Christmas shopping with my girlfriend (white) and we went to a local Mall and shit was ridiculous. It's already crowded as shit so I'm on edge, then I get the bonus of getting mean mugged by black women and old white men followed by judgemental eyerolls. I honestly don't even know/understand what the fuck they are upset about!? That was bad enough, but seriously the scoffing and comments almost got me fucking arrested. I swear to god when some woman clutched her little white female children of the corn looking kids and glared at us like I was going to snatch one of them and take her to my lair and muttered what sounded like " I can't believe that" I almost lost it. I hope every racist person I saw today ends up finding out their whatever's new partner is of whatever race bothers them the most. First time posting but oh well God, I want Prime to do better. They're being so awful at the moment, which makes me so sad, literally. Like ever time I see a one of those fucking post it makes me want to cry, god fucking dammit. I just want them to do well again. I finalized my two precalculus classes' grades two days ago. Current count of whiny students who sent me e-mails asking for boosted grades: 10. That's almost 1/5 of my students -.-' My favorite ones go something like this: "Professor, I know I need a 65% to pass and I have a 59% right now, so I only need 4% more to get a C." If you can't do simple subtraction, you should *definitely* be retaking this math course. My least favorite ones are the super indignant, astonished-that-I-failed e-mails: "Professor, I don't know how I could have failed the class because I did okay on the exams. Can you explain my grade to me?" I hate this because I'm the quickest, most transparent professor you'll ever meet. Hand in a quiz or homework? It's graded and handed back the next day. You want to know all your grades? On day one, I set up an online gradebook where I input and update your grades several times a week, and you have a free login ID and password to check your grades at any time you want. And I went over the grading policy with you from the syllabus, and I e-mail you guys once a week with reminders of homeworks, quizzes, and exams. Oh yeah, and you didn't do your homework, you skipped class and missed our in-class quizzes, and you failed the final. You've been flunking since late September, yet you're shocked? Talk about hand-holding. This is college, right? Not "High School Part 2"? I'm counting down the semesters until I stop bending over backwards for entitled and lazy students. | ||

I'm quickly learning, however, that even when you try to help students, no good deed goes unpunished. It just moves the threshold for them whining about something else. Plenty of students and professors are wonderful, but the minority of both groups really makes things a pain in the ass! If you want me to teach you, transfer to NJIT and take a basic stats, precalculus, or calc class haha  | ||
