EPTstill can't play it thru well after like 1 year of practicing the same fucking thing, makes me wonder if i'm just not made for guitar. there are some good moments happening but always shit ones still. like i will hit the record button and then play completely the wrong first 3 notes. wth?

I'm thinking of thinning the guitar herd a bit but the prospect of selling stuff on Kijiji or eBay just makes me want to go do cash trade-ins at the music store (the difference in amount of money I'd get compared to dealing with shipping instruments and possible is not worth it for me). There's a pretty amazing 1987 custom shop Jackson strat I have my eye on but I think before I buy it I need to clear some old guitars out. | ||

can someone see what chord he is playing here its some power chord that changes half way thru it took me literally 20+ minutes to figure out the first 3 chords of this chorus were....even with a tab (which i dont trust) im so fucking SHIT at this it goes F# D#m B ????? now i spent 20 minutes trying to figure out the next chord, i cant do it. from the video he is doing 2 power chords changing something but i cant even figure out what the barre chord is let alone what hes doing youtu.be/xcWFQ4ie_zU?t=88 at 1:32 they sing 4 notes and im guessing theres 2 chords that go on top of them???? im so fucking shit at this he is literally pressing 2 buttons and i cant figure ANYTHING out why the only fucking song i want to play have 0 tabs to it except one that seems to be completely wrong and another that is in a different fucking key edit got a reply on UG | ||

idk why u have to push ur fingers down like a fucking MONSTER on the first 2 notes otherwise they dont ring out when you shift your little finger i have to stop practicing every day coz my fingers hurt not because i get bored u wud fink they wud stop hurting one of these days but no | ||

Planning on making the following investments: 1) An Acoustic full body guitar; by that i mean not cut away at the end to help the left hand go higher. I play mostly chords and fingerstyle and arpeggios, no solos; budjet is 400-600 Euros. I have owned only Ibanez guitars and so far i' ve liked them; 2) Amp or equivalent, to allow both guitar and mic (i own a good mike allready and a electric guitar) to be playing from the amp; It would be best if it had a battery too, so as to be portable to be able to play where there is no electricity output; Budjet 500 Euros. I can' t remember the amp that i had, but it was something along the lines fender or vision; very cheap anyway. So far so good. Please do not suggest instruments that are bigger than my budjet. As much as i would like too, this is the possibility i have now, and i require both sets of things. Thank you for any advice, especially if you have similar guitars or amps or are experienced in the field; | ||

@FFGenerations: you should never ever ever ever push hard when you finger a note or chord, ever. It's one of the most common mistakes beginners make. You slightly change the note's pitch because you are putting too much extra pressure on the string, and you can't move your left hand fluidly if you push like that. You just need to practice until you can control your fingers better. | ||

so i guess i need to retrain to press it further down and lighter. i tend to practice pretty .... not calmly and too quickly for my ability . so there's a lot of super heavy finger pushing to hotfix fret buzz and getting frustrated about missing strings with my right hand rather than slowing it all down and giving better technique to all facets, i guess. i have the habit of practicing everything full speed (or whatever speed my head is doing) nomatter what, so i should bare that in mind and itll also stop me getting hot and bothered all the time here is today after 34 minutes of trying to do it notice a lot of leaning forward , i have no idea if its "ok" to do that but it helps with keeping that first e minor chord ringing out. probably you reduce the leaning the better your technique/finger placement gets atually i have been playing 1 yr and 3 months i fort it was 2 yrs already lol | ||

Clapton at his best... | ||

 If you want a guitar for dive bombs don't buy a mexican standard strat. Those trems are ok for vibrato but they can't hold tuning at all if you do anything more intense. | ||

 Apparently the Edge original is fairly close and highly valued by people like too (although his older guitars still have floyd's). My Ibanez has an Edge Pro and it's just not the same. edit: lol Edge Pro was discontinued and the Ibanez I have now comes with an Edge original. FML. | ||
