yeah i found that i was ALWAYS super bad so there's no point "holding off" on making clips, you just make them when you feel like it , not when you think you can play ok lol :D speaking of which i just had a crazy energy burst and felt like making a clip :D *brb* BTW my biggest advice i can possibly give someone beginning guitar is .... start doing pullups too . i found that when i went to the gym after abstaining and strengthened my general hand muscles (by say, 100%, which is like 3 weeks of gym for a weak person like me) then my ability to control my hands (notably making chords) shot up by a massive , vital amount. i wonder if anyone else experienced this? (pullups are great for hand strength but you can also do something like hold onto something very heavy for ~10-20 seconds, 5 times a day in succession. i'm guessing something like a bed would be heavy enough , just anything really damn heavy will do) | ||

im gonna learn the 2nd part tomorro since i keep putting it off (ive been learning japanese instead tho im try and do the 10 kanji/day thing) evan i recommend you do pullups to improve your guitar technique i can do 7 now | ||

I bought a few relatively cheap ones early on and they are only now (1-2 years later) becoming useful. I still never use my phaser, overdrive, or wah pedals. When you think it's time for a pedal consider things like eq, compression, and reverb. Those pedals are particularly useful because they serve such wide purposes. You can also use them to access sounds in your amp that are otherwise hard to get. (I.e. a distortion sound with an EQ.) They might not seem as sexy as an overdrive or flanger, but using an EQ with the proper settings can make your guitar sound really full and satisfying. You'd be amazed what kind of sounds you can get with carefully setting an amp. I bought a tube amp thinking that my solid state vox was terrible. The truth is I just didn't know how to set the vox. I now use the vox in almost all situations because it is lighter and lower maintenance. I believe the tone should really be the icing on the cake. People can achieve interesting melody, harmony, and rhythm with even the most basic instruments. Let those aspects of the sound guide you then present the guitar part with a killer tone. -- In other news! I just played my first full length show. It was two hours with two sets. We played a bit overtime though. It's only just happened but this is one picture my friends took. i tried it with the music and it was literally unplayable, i tried standing up too and it was even worse than unplayable (no idea how to do power chords standing up for a start), oh well | ||

Rocksmith specific question: so when i tune to Eb or lower, rocksmith has trouble recognizing the lower notes (any power chords) is this a rocksmith problem, or an string change/intonation problem? | ||
