Does anyone have any notion about good portable pocket headphone amps that have a couple of effects, like the Pocket Pod?

Meow-Meow I just did an amazon search and found these Link

I don't know much about pocket amps, but this is probably a good place to start, then just google the name and look at reviews or forum websites, as they usually provide pretty good incite as to whether a product is decent or not.

TOCHMY, if you want a way cool interface you should check out guitar rig. It costs money, but you can get some pretty excellent tones out of it, and if you have monitors it sounds really nice coming out of the computer.

Also, if you've got a general knowledge of DAWs, LePou makes really good amp plugins that, with the right knowledge and impulses, sound absolutely impeccable (and are free ).

LePou Amp Plugins

Here's an example of a song that was recorded using LePou's Lecto amp plugin:
Memphis May Fire- Vices

A lot of the sound comes post-recording with all the mixing and whatnot, but you'll still be able to produce an acceptable tone with free plugins like that

I just got my hands on 6505+ head, so I'm really excited about plugging into it!
(The picture quality isn't too good, but you get the idea haha)

Is that a Buckethead signature or am I completely mistaken?

My new guitar. Carvin DC 747 with the wiring of a 727 (has a 5-way switch with 2 pickups instead of 3).

I really need to get some better pictures to capture the shine of it, but its the best guitar I've ever owned. So nice.

The guy I bought it from is going to get me a custom truss rod cover to replace the spade one he had on there. So I'm going to get the protoss insignia.

Specs:
Carvin DC727/747 hybrid
Dimarzio pups
Swamp ash body
Maple neck through
Translucent Pearl Blue
Birdseye maple fretboard
Stainless steel frets
Reverse 7 headstock
5 way pickup switch with coil splitting built into the switch
Chrome hardware
White pearloid knob inlays

More than 6 strings make my head hurt

Unless its 12, then it just makes my fingers hurt

It's actually pretty simple once you stop trying to play regular chords starting from the 7th string...
The interval between the 6th and 7th string is the same as any other two adjacent strings (except 3rd and 2nd).

Which brings me to my question - has anyone tried Alex Hutching's tuning? He plays with the two first strings raised a half-step, which means the interval is the same across the board.

So many electric guitars in this thread!

I started out electric about 10 years ago - but I hardly touch that now. I played in a band a while with the electric but nowadays it's mostly acoustic.

My electric is a Washburn rs-980. A solid guitar but ugly as balls - will probably sell it soon (TM) and buy a high quality acoustic.

A couple of years later I had quit high-school and had a little money to spare. Still not completely rid of metalhead influence (and I was cheap) I bought an Ibanez AEL20. It has turned out being a decent guitar and it's easy to play with a decent sound - also the built in mic is a lifesaver when playing live it turned out.

2 years ago I came over a beautiful 30-year old Cimar acoustic. It plays as a god but it has been treated a bit rough, going out of tune in just a day or so - the neck has been broken and mended. It's holding together for now. If I want to play something instrumental this is my goto guitar.

I like the inlays on the Cimar. And that washburn is beautiful <3 Looks like a jackson had sex with an ibanez s series. (I love reverse headstocks as well).

I've never used Alex Hutching's tuning but it sounds like it would be cool for someone who isn't classically trained since it makes a consistent pattern up the neck. But it would be difficult to play chords that use those open notes.

I play in standard tuning with a low A. My Band. It's not me in the recordings but I just joined this band, listen to amulet to get a feel of the bouncy low A you get with a 7, or all ways to hear the beautiful chords you can make.

I'll try to get some recordings of my new guitar up here, because man that thing is awesome.

Almost done with my pedalboard.. Don't really use the TS9 and it's not gonna go on the board itself. Just missing a nice fuzz and a compressor
