Why would you bump this like that? It's just weird.

On topic, I hear rumors of fighting inside Turkey is this true? There is no mainstream coverage on it however.

Things look very bad for the greater region it doesn't seem to become any better too.

turks have been fighting against kurds(PKK allegedly) inside Turkey since the assassination of a kurdish human rights lawyer.
A leading human rights lawyer was shot dead in Turkey’s restive southeast on Saturday as he was calling for a halt to violence in the Kurdish-majority city of Diyarbakir.

Tahir Elçi, head of the local bar association, died from a single gunshot wound in the head after attackers opened fire on a press conference. The assailants have yet to be identified.

The killing sparked protests in Istanbul, Ankara and Diyarbakir. In central Istanbul, police fired tear gas and water cannons at angry marchers who shouted "You can't kill us all", and "The state has to give an account."
so it's been going on for at least a month.
And my fury stands ready. I bring all your plans to nought. My bleak heart beats steady. 'Tis you whom I have sought.

You know what, that's enough. You are constantly lying about every damn thing about Middle-East whenever you post here. Please keep your bullshit conspiracy theories out of this thread UNLESS you have SOLID-CONFIRMED proof, i told you before. that's just horribly misinforming people.

Ongoing clashes between Turkish State and PKK started soon after the elections when security forces found 2 Police-men dead in their beds. Then the turks bombed Qandil Mountains. PKK said they did not kill the police-men, tried to get quick votes out of the leftist people before secondary elections, later on they said a small group which they cant control killed the policemen because they thought policemen helped ISIS bombing in Suruc. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/turkey/11755018/Two-Turkish-police-officers-killed-close-to-Syria-border.html

No evidence today shows us that those policemen helped them in any way. Afterwards, we learned both sides decided and prepared themselves to go war mutually.Turkish side built new STRONGHOLDS in the mountains and Kurds placed IED bombs under the roads during peace talks. Erdogan rejected to release Ocalan and PKK insisted on that. This is how it started.

It has NOTHING, LITERALLY NOTHING to do with Tahir's death. It is still unclear that his death was an assassination, or a hearth-breaking incident that shows us the evil face of war. He caught in the crossfire when cameras were recording. Your total behavior of whatever you write or quote is irrefutable is so funny that a single video here is well enough to destroy your intentional misinforming.

Here in this video you can observe 2 PKK militants carrying out an assassination within a cab killing 2 policemen. Then they leave cabs and run through the street where Tahir is located. Their plan was cross Tahir's street and meet their second team who will return fire to the chasing policemen and flee.

In the second video you can see Tahir, 2 policemen, and press around him. The video starts right after 2 PKK members enters the street and policemen realizes them. You can actually see them running in front of the police, its stupid they only managed to deliver 1 shot to PKK members, second attacker threw his gun to police, distracted his aim and saved himself.

Longer version here, you can see pkk return firing from that street and press barely plans their escape:
+ Show Spoiler +

Tahir was shot to death 2 days after he criticized PKK's new strategy to carry out their fight in cities rather than mountains. But he was a well known lawyer with his words PKK is not a terrorist group. However, his autopsy report revealed that Elçi was shot in the back of his neck, the bullet exits his head above eyebrow line which makes us think it was fired from a dig hole or cover like this: http://zete.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/hendek-barikat-nusaybin.jpg
An examination of the crime scene by the investigation team three days after the incident was aborted because the team was targeted by gunfire on repeatedly. It would be a shocking ground loss for PKK if they killed him accidentally. And of course, it would hurt your propaganda indirectly to inform people here with correct coverage, i understand both.

I'll briefly go over it. The turks started a heavy offensive against PKK targets inside cities after they felt Northern Kurdistan's support on their back, declaring the longest curfew in its history in some of those provinces: http://www.todayszaman.com/national_curfew-lifted-in-nusaybin-after-13-days-new-curfew-imposed-in-derik_405330.html
Kurdish people starts to get angry at both kurds and turks: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=aeb_1451139766
There are numerous reports of Turkish soldiers are breaking through kurdish houses and violate human rights and PKK are forcing people out of their homes to hide themselves, burn schools, destroy transportation and racketeering.

Kurdish leader Barzani made a sharp statement against PKK's accuses of treason, openly supported Turkish operations, tension raised over a flag issue when PKK in Syria did not let some demonstrators wave the flag of Northern Kurdistan, more here: http://rudaw.net/english/kurdistan/23032014 I can try to translate KDP's letter to PKK if you want to have a look at it.

Here is a video from kurdish side http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=7c6_1450741946

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said he rejected joining a quartet to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) consisting of Syria, Iran, Iraq and Russia in Baghdad due to the presence of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
...
The German military is preparing to send more troops who will operate early-warning defense planes to support NATO ally Turkey in order to contribute to the protection of the country’s airspace from possible threats from neighboring Syria.

In a letter to the Bundestag, the lower house of parliament, the German foreign affairs and defense ministries said NATO’s Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AWACS) planes would temporarily be moved to the Central Anatolian province of Konya, the German Sunday newspaper, Bild am Sonntag, reported on Dec. 27.
...
Iraqi forces backed by U.S.-led coalition on Dec. 27 took control of the government complex in central Ramadi, the last Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) stronghold in the western city, a military spokesman said.

“By controlling the complex this means that they [ISIL] have been defeated in Ramadi,” Sabah al-Numan, a spokesman for the force leading the fight on the government side, was quoted as saying by Reuters. “The next step is to clear pockets that could exist here or there in the city.”

And my fury stands ready. I bring all your plans to nought. My bleak heart beats steady. 'Tis you whom I have sought.

In recent news, the QSD (SDF) crossed over the Euphrates at Tishrin Dam after advancing south from Sarrin and are now operating on the Manbiq plain, advancing on the city of Manbiq. This operation cuts off the most direct supply route from Turkey at Jarabulus through Manbiq to Al Raqqah. The position of Daesh in northern Syria is now tenuous.

U.S.-led forces have killed 10 Islamic State leaders in air strikes, including individuals linked to the Paris attacks, a U.S. spokesman said, dealing a double blow to the militant group after Iraqi forces ousted it from the city of Ramadi.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi planted the national flag in Ramadi after the army retook the city centre from Islamic State, a victory that could help vindicate his strategy for rebuilding the military after stunning defeats.

"Over the past month, we've killed 10 ISIL leadership figures with targeted air strikes, including several external attack planners, some of whom are linked to the Paris attacks," said U.S. Army Colonel Steve Warren, a spokesman for the U.S.-led campaign against the Islamist group also known by the acronym ISIL.

"Others had designs on further attacking the West."

One of those killed was Abdul Qader Hakim, who facilitated the militants' external operations and had links to the Paris attack network, Warren said. He was killed in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Dec. 26.

Two days earlier, a coalition air strike in Syria killed Charaffe al Mouadan, a Syria-based Islamic State member with a direct link to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected ringleader of the coordinated bombings and shootings in Paris on Nov. 13 which killed 130 people, Warren said.

Mouadan was planning further attacks against the West, he added.

Air strikes on Islamic State's leadership helped explain recent battlefield successes against the group, which also lost control of a dam on a strategic supply route near its de facto capital of Raqqa in Syria on Saturday.

"Part of those successes is attributable to the fact that the organization is losing its leadership," Warren said.

He warned, however: "It's still got fangs."

"EXCITED ABOUT THIS VICTORY"

The Iraqi army's seizure of the centre of Ramadi on Sunday is its first major victory against the hardline Sunni Islamists that swept through a third of Iraq in 2014, and came after months of cautious advances backed by coalition air strikes.

Three mortar rounds landed about 500 meters (0.3 miles) from Prime Minister Abadi's location during his visit, security sources said. The prime minister was not in danger but was forced to leave the area, they said.

Arriving by helicopter in the shattered city west of Baghdad, Abadi travelled in a convoy of Humvees and met soldiers at the main government complex captured by counter-terrorism forces on Monday, where he planted the tri-colour Iraqi flag.

He had announced the visit to Ramadi himself on Twitter and declared Thursday a national holiday in celebration, even though security forces must still remove explosives planted throughout the city and clear out fighters in some densely built-up areas.

Ramadi was the only city to have fallen under Islamic State control since Abadi took office in September 2014.

"He is excited about this victory, because he managed to remove this blot from his historical record as commander-in-chief of the armed forces," said Hisham al-Hashimi, a Baghdad-based analyst who has worked with the Iraqi government.

The retaking of Ramadi suggested Abadi's strategy of heavy U.S. air support while sidelining the Shi'ite militias could be effective. The militias have served as a bulwark against Islamic State but drawn objections from Washington.

"Ramadi is an example that the regular army wishes to promote for upcoming battles of liberation," Hashimi said.

Coalition spokesman Warren said casualties to Iraqi forces during the battle for Ramadi were in the low double digits. He and Iraqi officials put Islamic State casualties in the hundreds.

Reuters could not independently confirm those estimates.

This is a bit overdramatic. Kuntar spent his entire adult life in Israeli prison and when he was freed he was taking marching orders from Iran. Read Richard Lewis 5 advices to social justice warriors. "Stop abusing positions of power and influence to suppress facts that make you uncomfortable"

First of all, you're making a lot of baseless assumptions, and in contrast of what you claim, you didn't post one single fact. They look middle eastern and act suspiciously, but that doesn't mean they're terrorists. I'm not saying that there is no possibility of them preparing a terrorist attack, but you seem to know a lot more about this case than the rest of the world.

Secondly, your thread got closed for good reason; it's okay to share your opinion on team liquid, but if you're going to open a new thread, pull baseless assumptions out of nowhere and don't even provide a basis for discussion; you're doing something wrong.

By reacting like this and coming to this thread, it just seems like you're trying to justify your own words and opinions. Blame it on SJW's and censorship. There was no censorship, just quality control (otherwise Team Liquid would be full of shitposts like yours). There were no SJW's, there were normal sane people. This is a forum, not a platform for your political convictions and personal opinions...

It's quite funny that you quote Richard Lewis, because he would frown upon your posts and actions.

Also... one of the thread's rules is 'stay on topic'. Seems like you're really bad at respecting the rules.

1)It's not a baseless assumption. The police wouldn't be looking for these people if they didn't believe they were dangerous. I don't go to malls and video tape entrances. You keep saying I state no facts, yet I stated many facts.
-Canada wants to welcome 10,000 refugees
-the majority of which are young males (typically has been the case)
-They don't believe in freedom of speech, religious freedom, pretty much anything we hold dear as our core western values.
-these are not the usual cream of the crop immigrants who go through the vigorous immigration process.

Go ahead, tell me these aren't facts. I have an open mind.

2) I did open a discussion. I asked many questions and people's opinions. I then posted my thread here because it IS relevant to the situation in Syria/Iraq and the refugees. All you can do is attack my posts for being low quality instead of addressing the real issues. This always happens when an argument is lost.

This will be my last post. PM me if you want to continue.

Panic is exactly what leads to racism/extremism which blind your ability to see clearly.

Yeah, some most likely bad people were spotted "scouting" and the police reacts. This is actually good news and that mall will be safe.

To directly connect this to Canada taking some refugees is just stupid and extreme, the other stuff he posted in his tread also paint a very clear picture of him.

His view is completely rational. I myself am not a big fan or the syrian refugees coming into Canada either, but I don't have any data to quantify the effects of it. My main source of info is muslim friends, this thread, and some other articles about the conflict in the middle east.

Saying that people were scouting the mall is good news as in them being caught, but it's more bad news, as it's likely this may be going on in other places also. There has been a club shooting in Calgary like a week or two ago by three muslim males, and obviously the sample size is too small when considering only my own personal experiences, but it's not like anyone else here has data on syrian refugees coming to Canada.

And the way bigger issue in Canada imo isn't the extremists blowing up bombs and whatnot. The bigger issue is the people who have the radical doctrine, but they hide it, and make their ways into politics, organizations, and companies, and then they exert their influence.

And then there are the Islamists that believe in Sharia Law and whatnot, but just don't do anything, however, if Sharia Law was implemented for example, they'd prefer it over the current system (just like how most people turn a blind eye whenever there is abuse towards the First Nations here).

edit: Anyway, I think people nowadays have a tendency to start throwing out the word racist and other such things too quickly. Shut your mouth, let people say what they truly feel, and actually think about where their thoughts are coming from, before you start calling them a bigot.

Fighters with the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) on Saturday killed at least 135 people, most of them pro-government fighters, in wide-scale attacks on government-held areas of the eastern city of Deir Al-Zour, a monitoring group said.

Independent monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 80 of those killed in the contested city were soldiers and pro-government forces and the rest civilians.
