@redtooth: lol yeah, that was probably a stupid way by me to put it. Obviously everybody cares about durability to some degree. But durability as #1 can make sense to me for some people. A completely broken IEM is 0/5 sound quality, right?

@Waffles: They're much lower than $100, but maybe you can look at the MEElectronics M6 or M11? Well, for the price you can get one of each and see which takes longer for you to break.

Hey guys looking for some advice im interesting in picking up some decent head phones max budget is 150 would like to spend less.

I have pretty much come down to ATH M50s. They seem to be a very overall good head set of headphones not requiring an amp and being able to provide great sound and being comfortable at the same time. I was wondering if anyone else had some recommendations that might be similar to the M50s with maybe a lower price im not interested in IEMs as i've had them before and they were uncomfortable.

I just got these dt 770 pro 80s and I am in love with them, but I take it I need an amp and maybe a DAC to get the most out of it. I am thinking about the foii e5/e9 combo. Anyone recommend something else for >$200?

If you're using them straight out of your computer, I would recommend getting an Asus Xonar Essence ST or STX (only difference is which size pci slot they go in). It serves as a great source, and a pretty solid AMP/DAC. You can always get an amp/dac later too and just use the sound card as a source if you wanted. (it is a very very strong source, the best sound card on the market for sure).

So my $10 headset cord finally snapped and I cbf soldering it back together for a 4th time and have opted for a gamging headset. Any recommendations? Atm I'm looking at the Plantronics 770 7.1, the Razer Carcharias(sp?), Razer Megalodon and the Logitech G930. Havn't read many good reviews about the Plantronics but the others seem to be pretty well received.

SO yeah need some help here, or some other suggestions

My headset is so ghetto. I've got the original steel series icemats, but the wired strechy thing that holds them up off your head broke, so I've got a rubber band in it's place, also various cracked parts are held together with gorilla glue and electrical tape, they still have the best sound quality out of any headphones i've ever had before, especially with my x-fi titanium creative soundblaster, or at least when it works, fucking creative is awful with drivers.
