It was ok with lost for the first few seasons because 1.) I didn't immediately know they were making it up as they went along 2.) The acting/drama was really good and 3.) They didn't go crazy on flashbacks. but as it got into the later seasons all 3 of those points were broken and so i stopped watching but regardless i guess it could be good. hopefully they don't do flashback bullshit though. i mean every now and then is ok but DONT CONSTANTLY GO BACK AND FORTH IN TIME | ||

Idk but it kinda gave me that "24"ish feeling... and look like it's going to be where a question is answered but gives several more questions confusing the heck out of the viewer if you don't start from the very beginning. Definetely (obviously) are trying to cash in on the success of "Lost" and present a similar, OMGWTF type of mess. Lost worked (for me at least) because they made me interested in the characters...the mystery and mythology of Lost was just an extra...although I understand that not everyone here agrees with my thoughts on Lost. But The Event was just a pile of masturbation without ejaculation last night. Oooh, "The Event" is coming. Ooooooh. And beyond that, even including the last 5 minutes, nothing fucking happened. My theory on THE EVƎNT. In mathematics and predicate logic "∃" is the predication of a property or relation to at least one member of the domain (the President or the Earth?). a lots of people blame on the writing but i dont think its the reason why the show sucks. There were clearly too much hype from the beginning as a replacement for Lost. After that critic flame the pilot all the way which affect the decision of the show run. Im quite sure the writers didnt write the story in order to aim it in 1 season. A lots of corner has been cut which ruined the show. Acting was 7/10 overall but its clearly not terrible to stop people from watching. The one we should blame is NBC for their decision to stop the show! I hope CBS gona pick it up in the future, re write as well as remade everything. The story has too much potential to be ignored. | ||

The ending basically sucked, and yes this doesn't matter because no one is go wanna put alot of money into a show with horrible ratings. | ||

Then they drop this new info that even if they didn't kill us, we would die anyway during the event; which would occur when the visitors and humans lived on the earth together..... Simon Lee begins to explain the event to shawn(sean?) and then the guy from heroes interrupts and everyone forgets about what agent Lee was saying..... wtf? then he says all the answers are on sean's scroll, which he's had for like a week and hasn't even thought about. i really don't get how this kid who has been following along step for step with the visitors, figuring out all kinds of shit, hasn't tried to start figuring out what the old guy was talking about and what the old guy gave him. They've been globe-trotting and driving around the country, so there has been enough down-time for him to at least try to figure it out, but he seems to not care about any of it. What's the deal with the president's wife? she's a visitor, and tells her son the planet in the sky is home, yet she helps the president who is trying to stop her people. I'm assuming it's simply because she loves him. we better get some answers if the show never comes back. | ||

That really depends on your taste. I wouldn`t call it a huge disappointment but I can clearly see why it got cancled. The ending is kinda semi-finished, the old plotlines mostly get fixed while new once open up in the last second without any kind of explanation. So it is not really finished. Then again, if you got time to kill and don´t mind huge plotholes I think you can enjoy this show. I did, it is very silly at times, but not enough to kill the mood, so it is still kinda interesting and intense. Some characters (I am looking at you leala..) are really annoying though. | ||
