Hi Guys, I figuerd I'd share this video with TL since there is hardly any video of toned paper drawings. I did the high lights last so you get the 3d "pop" effect 2nd half. Toned drawings are also very good at demonstrating low/mid/high tone since their roles are very apparent. Hope you guys like it, and feel free to share you art.
Please watch in HD if you can.
edit: those of you from US and watch the food network/know the show Rachael Ray, on july 28 my chocolate lion video is gonna make a brief appearance with a bunch of other videos of ppl painting with food. Just thought it's kinda cool. This video incase you haven't seen it.

This is blasphemy! and nice drawing as I was watching it I thought the white was going to look weird but it ended up looking great.
Wow really nice. How are so confident about your placement that you for exapmpe start polishing the first eye before having hardly anyting else drawn yet? The first lines you draw seem to indicate the placement of different features but you draw them so randomly. Is it just experience so you know those are right?

UNREAL...so much detail with CHOCOLATE SYRUP?? you are a god.
Have you always been so awesome or did it take a lot of practice/lessons?
And not to nitpick because the picture is awesome but is it just me or is supermans left eye a bit big?
Awesome job. Very inspiring! I'm really amazed i didn't even see u do any frame outlines or place any triangles to give u an idea where to place the eyes and nose. How long does it take to be able to just "draw" without any reference marks?
Epic as usual. I really like how you used both black and white. I'm sure you could have achieved something similar with just the dark, but the way you manipulated both added so much depth.

I started drawing after I graduated from business school (3 years ago), just kind of did it one day.

When i draw from life i do full structure lines. drawing from static references you just need to becareful that everything is in the right place through triangulation, imaginary plump lines etc. Not too hard.

Your website says that you were self-taught; prior to your first video, how long did you teach yourself?
my first video is the joker. Prior to that I think i spent like few weeks doing random drawings.

guy..looks down.. yep, definitely guy. I have young looking hands, which is probably what confuses some ppl. my dad is like 50 years old and his hands looks same as mine.. seriously, lol.
holy cow I was lost in your channel watching all your vids for a while. I def think the new way you're doing highlights with white pencil really makes the portrait come to life. Definitely best thing I have seen on youtube in a loooooooong while

What dude? You started 3 years ago, at the age of 22~ and you can draw like this? Having trouble believing this..

Holy shit that is DISGUSTING. Seriously, so awesome. Where did you come up with the idea of doing a chocolate syrup "painting?"
At the opening post, awesome work as always. It's always fun to watch you draw stuff.
Oh my gosh that was so sweet! I love you for posting this. I already like watching this kinda stuff but seeing it from a TL member is almost like it's a friend or family member doing it, so much cooler! I loved it and you did such a great job. Don't ever stop doing what you love!

same here, at first i was confused why you were adding the white as it looked great before. then when i saw the finished product i was wow'd
Amazing, as always. I love your drawings. Can you make something SC related? Protoss hero like Tassadar or something. I dont think I saw anything of that sort from you.
Hmmm, so jealous. I wanna be able to draw like that... or hell even just half as well as that would do me just fine^^ Edit: did you practice much with the chocolate before going at that lion? Looked insanely hard and awesome.

everyone's going to be playing starcraft 2 on that day though
I hope you know I show you to all my art friends Glider. You have no idea how wide their eyes get =D. Every time you add some touch(the white charcoal in this one on the left part of his face for example) mentally I go "no, don't! you're going to screw it up! >_<" but it always turns out even better.
Wow your portraits are absolutely sick. The bisu one literally appears photographic.
How did you go about teaching yourself such baller portrait skills? I try my hand at drawing and it just doesn't look remotely like the reference I started with.
Wow, That was amazing man looking forward to more posts of your work. I used to draw back in the day. Great stuff Hope you go far. :D
Edit* Just saw your chocolate lion...... That was impressive and with chocolate. Nice. Im gonna go look at more of your stuff.
Edit* You did Bisu?! Thats totally awesome. :D Now Bisu can say he was honored enough to be drawn by you. Lucky guy. Again great work and keep it up. Don't ever get discouraged.
