TL is the continuation of my refound love of starcraft. Started with Moletrap and the Violetak channel on youtube and just progressed to this amazing place. Guess all roads lead to TL
Now it's become my 3rd stop on the internet and one of my favourites!

A constant reminder of how shitty other forums are in comparison, whether Starcraft-related or not.

TL is the place where there is everything and everything is happening! Not only are there SC players, but random discussions about.... EVERYTHING!

Since the internet offers freedom of speech (+anonymity) in the most extreme degree, a great place like this has astronomically low chances of functioning if it were a democracy.

A curiously good lesson learned here is that in parenting/teaching/leadership/supervising etc., some times dictatorship works best, to everyone's interests

Good question. Actually, first I didn't want to write anything, since I'm heavily inactive in the forum. That's probably because there are just soooo many people and when I look at the threads I see between 50 and 5000 answers behind every topic, I wouldn't even wanna try to keep up with that^^ but actually TL, also without the forum, became really essentual for me in the past couple months.

I started playing SC around 99 I think and was part (and pretty active) of the Swiss community site "skilled.ch". At one point I stopped playing SC:BW for a long time, with a few comebacks every know and then. I have to add that i always sucked. I didn't have any idea about unit- strenghs, strategies and any of those important things. Sometime in 2008 I think, through my brother I started watching GomTV regularly and i started liking BW again. I didn't really play a lot, but I really enjoyed watching the pro- scene, of course also thanks to Tasteless. He always mentioned TL.net and after a couple broadcasts I visited the site, just for some minor things like maps and whatnot. It took a veeery long time until I figured out that there are a lot of streams on the site where I could watch games live. I also started watching and listening to Day[9] dailys on demand, just while playing WoW :s I learned a lot about strategy, mechanics etc. and I started playing again, following all the things I heard on streams or saw from pro- games.

I don't want to say I'm good now, but I really enjoy the game like never before, we also started having some SC:BW lans with family&friends. Also one reason why TL.net is so important to me is that I'm jobless for many months now and I'm on this site for a big part of the day (and especially night^^) watching almost every stream. I don't even know what I'd do for that whole time without this beautiful site.

So TL.net is not just some site to me, but a site that brought me back to my old favourite thing and has taken a big part in my daily life.

Thanks alot Team`Liquid :D

My blogs point out what it is.

edit:
Teamliquid is an escape from my fear of failure. I will often go here because it is not only easy and convenient to read and post, it is also relaxing. I do not fear that I will fail in any way. It is also a contributing, though not the primary factor for this fear.

It is in addition other things, but primarily teamliquid is the website where I most often escape to.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

TL to me is really mainly a source of communication. im not very big on social type of like, partying or anything like that. im a pretty solitary person, but its nice to hear what others have to say every once in a while. and well... ive been playing starcraft since its release, so having that as a basis of discussion is always nice. its like talking to people about WoW. once you start talking about it, theres is no end in sight. i could go on for hours and hours talking about this game.

TL is where people work harder than everyone else without thinking about getting paid, where the community is smarter than everyone else while still being welcoming, where your image and status among others is truly a reflection of how much you give, not how much you have, where every type of viewer or player at any level of skill can find something interesting and helpful, and where cheating is treated like the crime it really is.

Its almost indescribable how the wide variety of talents, abilities, skills, and creativity of the myriad of posters at TL come together to produce interesting discussions, projects, tournaments, etc. simply for the benefit of others without thought of reward.

It is, for me, the best website on the Net.

TL is a very active forum for discussion about common interests, where people can speak their minds with anonymity, and where we can laugh and be entertained, learn, explore and grow.

TL is a place where people help each other, regardless of the problem whether it is game related or not.

Team Liquid: The homework alternative.

Even if I didn't watch every PL/OSL/MSL game possible (based on school schedule), follow along with recent BW news, read winners interviews, play fantasy proleague, bet on and discuss lineups of PL matches through liquibet, read fantastic writeups and coverage of everything happening in the scene including games worth watching that I missed, or partake in and observe the myriad of contests and events going on all the time... TL would still be my favourite site. Of course, I do do all of those things so that just makes it all the more fucking awesome.

You are wise and correct. That is this thread is for me RIGHT NOW reading everyone's comments, thoughts, and opinion despite the fact I have a 10 page paper to do....

TL teached me some internet etiquette and the mods are like daddys to me ^_^
I don't think I've ever wished my opponent good luck prior to a game. When I play, I play to win. I hope every opponent I ever have is cursed with fucking terrible luck. I hope they're stuck playing underneath a stepladder with a black cat in attendance a

TL is my number one site. It is the first and last thing I check when beginning and concluding the day, respectively. When typing into my address bar, teamliquid.net has replaced tetrisfriends.com, which I also love to frequent.

TL is a place where I can find the most up-to-date news on progaming, watch streaming matches, read all the kooky threads that other forums would have, and post safely knowing that there is a benevolent (lulz) group of moderators and staff out there to watch over the place.

TL is my mafia home, as well as the place where I can pretend to know how to code when I make my LR OPs.

TL is one of the greatest sites in the world.

Vive la TL, seriously.
