I honestly think being honest is the most respectful way (although not the most sensitive) to tell someone that you're not interested. Tell them that you want to talk about something else, or that you don't really like the line of conversation you are on in general. Wishful thinking on the guy's part will make it very easy for him to misinterpret more subtle approaches. Plus some very shy/introverted girls just talk like that even if they enjoy your company and only warm up after a few minutes when they are more comfortable with you. If you are really not interested, the direct approach is by far the best one. Remember that it's possible to be both unambiguous and tactful. | ||

Look at them in the eye as little as possible, don't face them when they speak to you, speak to them with a closed stance, crossed arms. Don't smile when they speak to you. If they are really persistant, simply say "Can you please leave me alone?" If they dont take THAT hint, then their presence is threatening, and I suggest telling someone. | ||
