Nah, he did the right thing. There's a big difference between "fun girl" and "wife material". He's a fucking baller, he can get girls like that any day of the week. Why would he marry a skanky dancer, who's been with more men than she can count, and likey cannot be trusted since she's used to a certain... lifestyle shall we say? When he wants a wife (not a given, considering the opportunity cost if he plans on staying faithful) he can get a young model with a good reputation.

She's in charge of a dance company, I don't see how that makes her skanky. And dancer >>> model.

Citizen, that still doesn't explain why you would drop 2 million dollars on a wedding.

He didn't spend $2m, it was 500k for wedding + honeymoon. Bad decision to be sure, but in the end divorce would have been far costlier. And obviously I also don't know if he's gay or straight, or if she's really a skank or not (being the "artistic director" for the Sugar & Spice dance team in no way rules that out btw). All this stuff is besides the point and their own private business really.
The important thing is this: when someone of RJ's status dumps a good looking woman, its not the end of the world or "the worst mistake ever wtf is wrong with him omg, omg?!?!?" Plenty of other good looking women left for him out there, if he's interested.

lol Jibba, he's an NBA player, there's virtually no ceiling for how hot a girl he can get, so just because this chick happens to be hot doesn't mean its a mistake
i mean, joe sixpack dumping this chick = mistake, but millionaire nba player dumping her = he'll probably find someone better

Cleveland, Orlando, Boston 4-6. Atlanta, Detroit, Miami 7-8. Chicago, Washington (Their new roster looks good IMO) I think 4-8 is all pretty uncertain though. Philadelphia might be a 5 seed or something. Toronto might get again, but so might the Pacers. Toronto's 3rd best player is Calderon (I guess), and after that there is a big drop off. Hedo might not be as good in Toronto either. Who knows :O bargnani's been playing better and better each season, and calderon was one of the best shooters in the league last year, along with being the best free throw shooter. i think hedo is going to mesh really well there, with the large european connection that the raps have in both players and management.
i think the raps will have no trouble taking 4th in the east, after boston, cleveland, and orlando. and yeah, i'm a fanboi

well it's not far from the truth. Injuries raped Toronto early last year then management started doing some crazy maneuvers so that explains the shitty season in a nutshell.
Turk-Calderon-Bosh is very fluid lineup to have. If we have learned anything from NBA history it's that having a point forward and a point guard = a hell of a lot of problems for opposing defenses.

the raps should trade bosh and get another foreigner, they can be the "big 3 immigrants"

I agree. I spent the last few minutes reflecting on the difference between fun girls and wife materials. Would you have a fling with a Megan Fox with sociopathic outbursts? Ann Coulter? The Bush twins? Would you be compatible though?
The point is none of these women are marriable.
Pictures don't tell much about how attractive someone really is.
How can you know whether you're attracted to a person or not until you know
-Their religion, and respective piety -Their family and family history -Their socio-economic class -Their artistic and literary talents -Their sensitivity, romanticism and sentimentalism -Their patriotism, provincialism, and rootedness in their native culture -Their cooking, cleaning and other domestic abilities -Their mental and emotional stability -Their historical attitude and preferences regarding bourgeois family life -Their racial origins (if not already clear) -Their feminine virtues (virginity, modesty, etc)
The above listed constitute 95% of the qualifications for any marriable and therefore attractive girl

Bos apparently signed Marquis Daniels, so they now have a nice backup SG/SF for Allen/Pierce.
Story.

That's a really good signing, what a deep team Boston is.
Speaking of signing forgotten players, Detroit signed Chris Wilcox. I think that is a very good signing. He's been a very good player in short minutes from what I've seen and based on his stats. Someone good in short minutes is quite good enough for Detroit who at least needed a role player in that position. I think this roster is very solid now, except for maybe something resulting from Rip's inevitable tantrum about how his minutes go down.
Wilcox/Kwame CV/Maxiell Prince/Daye?/Summers? Gordon/Rip (although I think based on ability and salary Gordon should be a starter this will probably be reversed since of those two only he has shown ability to play well off the bench) Stuckey/Bynum
Detroit could be between really good or average. It could vary largely since Stucky and CV might be very improved. Back up at SF might be good or bad. Very interesting team, I think 48 wins minimum!
And I think Miami is getting Odom. That alone is going to make them quite exciting. If they get Boozer too it's going to be the most exciting team. I really want to watch Wade with a good supporting cast again.
|
Still don't think Odom wants back in Miami unless Buss says he isn't coming back since you don't skip over your agent to try to re-open negotiations unless you really want to stay.
The problem with Detroit is whether they can keep up with the rest of the East which I feel have gotten better with everyone picking up one or more impact players. The West is more interesting, some teams found gold and some lost it while some improved their rosters without really improving their overall abilities. I know it sounds vague but I feel like SA, OKC, Utah really took advantage of the off-season while some teams like LAL, Mavs made some interesting choices that won't really hurt or help them. Then there are teams that for some reason or another haven't really done anything well and just seem will either fade or fight for the 7 and 8 spots like NO, Portland (I don't see them improving on their performance from last season), GS, and others.
|
As Judicator said, Odom is rumored to want to stay with LA now.
|
is it true that odom can end up making more money in miami because of the lack of tax there
