I am loving where we moved to. There's a wall of gatecampers in the entry systems but you can get past them with a scout and good bookmarks. Once you're into the area they think of as theirs it's all awesome. There's so much empty space to do shit in you wouldn't believe, there was sanctum after sanctum and then when I got up to deklein, a load of BS afk running sanctums. I went for them and I guess pissed off some locals cause they got a small gang up to deal with me. Rapier, vaga, heretic, claymore, cane, zealot vs my drake, game on. Rapier started the fight, as they do, so I immediately burned away, heated scourge fury at it and started hulksmashing it. Local spiked and I turned the heat on the mwd to try and get some distance from the warpin, even if I was only going 500m/s, every second counts when a rapier is trying to tank my kind of drake. The rapier was going into armour as the vaga burned at me so they attempted to execute a complicated maneuver whereby the rapier gtfoed but kept webs while the vaga took over point. However even with the claymore on the field my missile range rivaled the rapier web range and as it hit half structure 70k away it gave up and warped. I'd turned heat off my mwd once the vaga got me because he could keep up with me either way and instead focussed on smashing the heretic which kept launching bubbles at me as I burned along for some reason. The cane and claymore were a non issue, I was sufficiently far from it that they still hadn't closed range before the rapier left and my links were stronger than theirs, they weren't gaining ground. The heretic decided to leave pointing me to the vaga (or maybe it ran out of cap, I'd burned a good 150k by this point) so I switched damage to the vagabond and decided to see if it could match my capacitor with maxed out cap skills on a drake while tanking scourge in the face. I was going into armour at this point while it was in half shields but it was not enjoying the 17k web. After one such web it dropped behind and I saw my chance, mashing on the heat that I'd been hiding from it thus far. My microwarpdrive kicked into action giving the last few % of burn that I'd been holding back and suddenly the vaga found itself struggling to keep pace. It had the potential to match my speed but had been attempting to kite my web and despite having a linked point itself I was able to just squeeze out of point range and warp in 5% armour as the zealot and heretic closed in. The cane warped with me and landed at 0 as I aligned but it just missed me and this time I went to a safe. Combat scanner probes immediately went out but the server was 40 seconds from shutting down for dt.
