They are basically portable air conditioning/heating units, and if I really wanted to push my cooling setup I would try to integrate something like one of those. The compression and heat exchange would happen pretty far away from the computer proper, and it'd be connected to your case by a flex-tube, so you shouldn't have any issues with condensation and you should be able to run your PC without it if you need to. My own computer is something I blew a couple grand on about three and a half years ago now, and is still going strong. The GPUs recently piped their last few texels, but it's only like a hundred bucks nowadays to get a gpu that's actually better than the pair of them were back in the day. If you get a good motherboard, good solid hardware (the PSU is pretty important!), and good coolers you should be able to overclock it right from the start and it will last you for ages. An interesting note: You can sometimes make graphics cards last LONGER by constantly running compute-intensive applications, like CUDA Folding@Home, in low priority idle space. After I gave up on SLI, my Folding graphics card actually outlasted the other because it had been at a constant temperature while the other was always going up and down and up and down with the capricious tides of my gaming habits, fatiguing the solder points and making it eventually fail. (I am probably going to be baking these again, too, in a properly controlled oven this time to breathe life back into their poor aching solder joins.) | ||

It can do a lot of DPS in theory, but good luck actually applying it to your target. That, and with insurances included, a Thorax isn't that much more cheaper than a Brutix, which is better in almost all ways except mobility and scan res. IMO the drone boats are generally the best T1 cruisers (Arbi/Vexor) due to their versatility with neuts and/or Tracking Disruptors. For facemelting DPS with plates/LSEs, a BC is usually always better than a Cruiser unless you're kiting, but very few T1 cruisers can effectively kite (faction/T2 can do it very well though) and apply any useful amount of DPS. | ||
