I've mostly been winging it so far, but here's what I've been doing: I've been doing the logi frig burner missions with a AB rail DD as well, it's a bit of tricky flying, but what you've gotta do is separate the burner from the logi, with you directly inbetween them, then approach the logi frig at the same speed it is moving away from you, while using web to keep burner away. Once the first logi is dead, I'm torn as to what is quicker, killing the burner only, or the 2nd logi first..... For the regular burner missions, I just don't do the serpentis one. The others are easy with a DD fit with some universal rigs, and a little bit of bling (fed web and relatively cheap hardeners). I'm more comfortable doing them with an AB rail fit (worm being the exception ofc, needing blasters + mwd). They really don't take that long to do either way. I have lost 2 DD's so far though. One was to 2 wrecking shots about 15 seconds apart, and the other I was against the worm and I accidentally turned off one of my hardeners while trying to OH them. I was volleyed before I could turn it back on lol. For the talos burner mission, I use a 10mn ab svipul. I've seen people advocate the confessor, and I figured "why not use a ship that goes about 500m/s faster, has more effective dps, and a lower sig"? It works beautifully and is super cheap. I looked online for the stats of the rats, and set it up in pyfa where I needed to heat my hardeners to tank it until 1 was dead, and then after that I'm fine. Turns out that they do more deeps than the stats I found, and I lost my first vigilant. Maybe if I had better heat management I could have survived, but I knew I was pretty close though, so I just swapped a mag stab for another hardener, and it tanks it beautifully now. It's a piece of cake. I blinged out he hardeners a little bit, because some faction ones are pretty cheap. I don't do the ashimmu burner mission. My very first burner mission was the one where I lost the vigilant. Total "wtf?" moment there. My very next burner mission was the one where my first DD got killed by 2 wrecking shots 15 seconds apart. I was in a rail DD sitting outside of damage range, only to basically get volleyed off the field lol I was quite literally 0/2 there. I've definitely done enough of them at this point to pay for those losses a couple of times over now though. And they are stupid quick to do, so much faster than regular level 4's and a better reward. I'm also averaging about 50m in drops from the talos burner mission, between skins and serpentis faction mods, so that's also super nice as well, although maybe I'm a bit lucky there. | ||
