Since it's a trial I'm not really concerned with doing much more than getting familiar but if I decide to give it a go for a few months, does the offer still stand for the referral link? I understand that it'll be a new character/account; I've made this one as a throw-away just for the experience and gaining a general familiarity.

That's where my undying love of spreadsheets will finally blossom into something beautiful. I feel like I need to rebind keys but I didn't dig into the menu to find out if that's possible. I'm going to assume my confusion lies in unfamiliarity but one thing I do know is that ALT+F-Key is remarkably uncomfortable on this keyboard. Finding some interesting gems that mean little to me right now but I'm sure will be useful along the ride in this old reddit thread that has probably been linked here before maybe? http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/rpffl/the_have_a_tip_leave_a_tip_eve_thread_round_iii/

I was looking into doing something productive in lowsec in an attempt to increase my PvP exposure (which is pretty much zero whenever I'm roaming). So apart from simply roaming around my options appear to be ratting, exploring or running missions. I'm omitting FW here because it's a snore fest and consensual PvP doesn't thrill me at all. When I look at the other three, however, I feel like they're only marginally better options: Exploration is kind of fun and profitable, but I have to fit at least a probe launcher and the only way I'm going to find PvP in a plex is if someone probes me down. Missions don't require extra modules, but again if I'm going to find PvP in a pocket it's going to be a gank. Ratting seems like a waste of time moreso than the other two. The income is so low I might as well go somewhere else and look for a fight. I've tried doing combat plexes in an Arbitrator with a Combat Probe Launcher and a cloak so I could find some targets in-between, but without cloaked warp you will always expose yourself before scanning anyone down either because they can see your probes or because they repeatedly see you on dscan. Currently I'm ninja salvaging because the odds of someone shooting me while doing that are higher than if I were roaming lowsec. Am I doing something wrong or is there just no incentive for anyone to expose themselves to PvP anymore?

Go solo C1-C3 worm hole combat sites, promise you will find someone somewhere while doing that Ninja Salvage Go into 0.0 And try to steal from ESS boxes Your posts confuse me for the most part. But those are the ideas off the top of my head that might offer you the pvp you are looking for.

I heard you can reasonably run c1/c2 sites with an Assault Frigate? The ESS thing seems fun, too. I hadn't read up on the new deployables yet, but I like roaming nullsec so long as there's something to do.

I would choose another ship As for the ESS thing, any fast mover / cloaky might be able to get you some easy cash. However there is the very real possiblity of getting camped in once you get deep inside of a bear pocket.
