Two megacoalitions that each rule half the galaxy are, after a series of proxy wars and sparring, going all at it. Previous attempts at doing this have resulted in server crashes but through excellent tactics the CFC, who have superior numbers, have used their surplus pilots to limit the ability of the enemy to join the fight through delaying actions elsewhere rather than piling in and allowing the enemy to do the same. 140 titans, the largest class of ship in the game with a value equivalent of 200 months game time subscription (or if you were to buy that much game time subscription off of the developer with $, $3000) are involved and 30 are already dead. This is the single bloodiest day in Eve history by far. These ships take minerals to build and minerals can be mined at approximately 15m/hr. The mining required to replace the losses would take 266,000 manhours or over 30 years of constant effort. It's a truly astronomical amount of destruction and it's still going.
Rather than have the fight come to an end in 10 hours on scheduled downtime the devs have taken the unprecedented step of running a 47 hour eve day so the fight could potentially last that long with the titans trapped in combat being forced to stay awake or take powernaps between doomsday cycles.

that coud be interpreted as a little bit of favoritism

holy shit 45+ titans dead already (according to the streams)

Currently 20-37 in CFC/Rus favor according to the PL stream.
Dread guns work again according to TMC.

Obi-Kwark, you are our only hope, you must destroy them from the inside

This is incredible. Looks like the goons will take the very long day thus far.

This is epic as hell!! Thanks for the BR Kwark and link.

This was just a ruse by somebody anyway. Downtime is scheduled as normal.

one problem: most titans carry about 500k isotopes (fuel) when fully fueled up, each doomsday takes 50k isotopes, most CFC titans have fired their DD 5-6 times. if they weren't topped off on fuel before this (unexpected) fight kicked off they'll be running low by now

lol read about this battle on another site, got interested and started reading the backstory of EVE politics/ fleet doctrines
anyways, is N3/PL gonna die now with CFC being the lone superpower?

will the outcome of this battle completely destroy one coalition or the other? Or will both still be standing afterwards. how can either side even take such losses? I feel as if another faction will simply fill in the vacuum and take advantage of both of them.

most wars are lost by morale, coalitions are rich enough, they'll get over it.

PL's moral will be more or less fine, NC. less so, nulli will be outback digging themselves a grave before shooting themselves in the head and falling into it.
War was over already tbh.

The CFC has already won eve, the combatants in this fight, NC., Nulli and PL lack the kind of unified military structure that the CFC has. PL have been historically very powerful alone but are really a relic of when alliances were able to win wars themselves that had enough momentum to continue into the coalition age. It's now been diplomatically isolated from the other two with a non invasion pact with the CFC that allows for them to fight in N3s defensive war but means their assets and systems will not be at risk. This battle doesn't decide anything, all participants are rich enough to buy them back and 20 titans down for CFC is a colossal loss for them too but it's a symptom of the better command and leadership of the CFC.
The rest will be history. No new coalition can rise up to rival the CFC, the HBC tried but while it had member and even experienced leadership it didn't have the history and mentality of the CFC which grew organically over time.

anyways, is N3/PL gonna die now with CFC being the lone superpower? titans are likely already replaced)) Trit jumped by over 1 per unit as people speculated on the cost of replacing it because fucktard market speculators don't know that people don't just go out, buy trit and then somehow generate titans. That's not how it works but I was happy to sell my trit at 20% above market.
