Part 4: Back to the pvp
A typical Hatch pvp fleet op went like this. Leave from Emol, and rush out of the first few low sec systems away from mean corp, they were scary. Spend the next 4-5 hours meandering through low sec (or if we were feeling balsy we might go to npc null). No probes meant that a rifter had to try to dscan us a target. A lot of ops ended without a kill.
We used to just be massive blobbers, it wouldn’t be until a fateful day when several people were annoyed about how little challenge there was in blobbing that dexxus first sold kwark on the idea of flying Nano fleets on team speak. We promptly stole all of darkside’s fits and began doing nano drills. The funny thing about the hatchery is that throughout the last 2 years we have always said we were the best in eve. After a few days of nano drills, we were sure that no force in eve could ever stand up to us, it was only a matter of time until all of eve surrendered to our might.
I actually used to help kwark run nano drills, maybe if I had stayed dedicated I would of ended up able to be an FC, but FCing the nano drill for the hatchery side against pretend evil gate camp kwark netted me my favorite kill of all time.
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=12207996
kwark was still a guy who would rant and rave at day old pilots back then, so I think it was actually good for morale that we all forgot to turn off our guns when we had escaped the “gate camp”.
Having mastered pretend nano we began our warlord spree. Deccing all the innocent corps in emol and exacting terribl,e terrible damage upon them.
Well sort of.
Remember when I said we didn’t have links back then? Well at some point someone had transferred Wrathful Penguins to one of kwarks accounts as a donation. Wrathful was lightyears ahead of us in skill points and had link skills. Kwark used to use a claymore with links and nano on grid during the fight with us. No safed up loki link boat for us. KWark also tried using recons via tri boxing which netted a series of comical +5 pod losses often multiple times a day. Thank god pods didn’t show implants back then.
I remember what I thought was the saddest day in our corp for a long time. We had decced some station hugging battleship carebears (MARSOC)and were flying to go engage their fleet, serg and kwark got into a verbal argument over some silly bullshit and Serg rage logged in I believe a scimi (we really needed reps back then). Kwark was furious on comms for the longest time vowing to kick him from corp. Serg left the corp (don’t know if it was a kick or not) a few days late. I nearly quit that day, about the earliest drama we’ve ever had. If VoV ever yells at you about how bad interceptors are, he has a reason. He totally used to fly interceptors for us. None of them ended very well, usually with kwark yelling at him for hours on end. The best of these losses was in a roam we were having. VoV had found us a myrm to blob and moved in to point for us.
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=11738207 Every highslot was a neut. Who knew.
I left corp to go try WH with an actual group at some point, but before that there was Aral. The corp had been laying waste to the area when a local group there tried to get us to join their alliance. We accepted, and shortly after organized a meeting on team speak that would end in a co op roam. Someone was supposed to have recorded it. It was an amazing troll fest where we planned to take over null sec and make titans to make more titans. Of course it ended with us awoxxing their entire battleship fleet. It was our largest turnout ever and we actually severely outnumbered them. Was one of my first ops where I got to use my Nanopest, other than Jaime who had joined corp with tens of millions of SP I was the only other pilot allowed to use a BS back then in ops.
Afterwards the Corp moved to molden heath and I moved into a WH corp. About this time I met chessur and he used to email me about his SB blog he wanted to start. I still have the original transcripts for it on my eve mail.
When I returned I joined back up with the hatcher after about 5 months and molden had all but surrendered to the Hatchery. During my time back I met Lee on his first day and took him out on his first training roam. At the end we both got called in to help jump a couple of battleships and lee performed flawlessly getting the point on a Megathron. This was before the “I was there “ trailer and Lee was clearly shaken on TS going on about how his hands had been trembling the entire time and he was out of breath.
My play time tapered on and off since then, been busy, but I’m now the PVE director of Spawning Pool.

Confirming that abom is the best training roam leader ever and that tackling that mega and orbiting it at 500 with my scram on was some pretty incredible adrenaline. Must've seemed so silly to you guys then.

Naw, its pretty normal for rifter pilots to feel like that. Its why we all say we miss flying rifters in fleets once the bc fatigue sets in.

I still remember the guy who died to drones on a gate because he was too scared of Kwark to say anything or jump through.

Was that me? Certainly sounds like something that I have done on the few times I've flown with you

It was Kwark, Serg (who was actually in corp back then), Nou, Dexxus, and Jaime along with a handful of others who didn’t make it this far including the vile Thornton. Other than the occasional rifter roam I completely skipped having to start out as a rifter pilot. A t2 cane was a precious thing to us. http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=11598510 (Nou is in natural habitat on kms, a pod)
actually vov is like a week older than me, caelum i think is my same age. wp is an old vet that still post in some threads (he gave me the 21) my history comes from caldari space.
km, t1 ac so good, my best lossmail is when i attacked a tengu on a rifter.... on a lowsec gate, lots of km had made who i am... the EVERY OP A NEW SHIP.
i remember when you got to emol, i was flying maels back then you had a mach and no standings and came along one of the serp missions... that day i wanted a mach.

If you mean rogue drones, that was Chrisss on one of our only nullsec roams deep into bot space from oddel.

Letting my accounts time out with a PLEX sitting in their cargo (in case I decide to come back). Was mostly looking for an MMO to blow off steam in PvE after/between classes during the semester, and EVE filled that need without requiring much time commitment at all. Imma go back to LoL for my PvP needs this summer.
Always a pleasure reading Hatch battle reports and killmails, the corporation provided a good intro into a game that's different from every other MMO I've played.

Blapping things with a dreadnaught is amazing.
That is all.
Also, new mirror up on SiSi. They tweaked the scripts and seeded all the things, so if you've ever wanted to play with a deadspace tanked whatever, now is the time.

Question: - Is there any room for a none-pvp'er in this corp?
I'm talking 0 pvp, I plan to sit in asteroid fields mining 24/7, kind of 'none-pvp'er' =)
