Not really. Skills train by time, so they will train at the same rate even if you don't play.

This, and the Corp thread, really make me want to re-up. I only played for a month or two, but I did have fun. I stopped because my WoW friends decided to reappear, and that's why I play online games-- to play with buds.

It sucks for all the spectators that the galaxy is laying stagnant-ish right now.
I cannot stand ignorance or dismissiveness. I edit every post I make-- I've edited this sig three times in an hour.

It's mostly to do with CoW disbanding, primaryDOT selling their space, HTA being a bunch of newbwads and having a blue list longer than longcat. That and holding sov is a bunch of worries with a bit of income, also 3of our pvp corps left within 2 weeks of each other leaving a bunch of carebear and noone to FC defense fleets.

scalding pass is a pretty awful place to keep sov in the first place. A million access points, shitty moons, bad pi planets, and over all poor systems. Holding sov is actually nice when it's a good region.

I think he means that there is stuff going on in-game that actually effects the universe a lot of the time. If you are part of a large alliance that is well-connected, you could theoretically participate in large-scale action during US prime time, then European, then Russian, then Asia-Pacific. That would span a good 15 hours.

Anyone who wants anything to do with large scale sov warfare with the current state of the servers is out of their mind.

I have a lot more patience than many others for large scale warfare, and enjoyed booting WIDOT out of Geminate quite throughly, but nowadays the game is simply too broken to get any enjoyment out of big sov brawls.

As with any game, luck plays a factor, but there is nothing more pointless than fleeting up just to jump into a system, blackscreen and lose your ship without so much as activating a module.

These days, most of the large battles are decided more so by how long before a timer one side is willing to fleet up and wait in a system, as well as how good a job the fc does managing the lag. That, to me, isn't a game, but a task.

That is sad but true. It burns out good FCs and gives people who actually show up to fleet fights blueballs most of the time.

Did you read the minutes of the June CSM Summit? CCP basically said that for the next 18 months, instead of improving any existing features they're going to be focusing on planetary interaction, connecting it with DUST 514 and implementing walking in stations.

You have to understand that CCP has been wanting to do things with PI and walking in stations since like the summer of 05. It's been their brain child for as long as I can remember.

Hopefully after they get this fix they'll move to better things.

This all basically happened within the past 2 hours.

http://www.eveonline.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=4009&tid=7

Jita, The Forge - An invasion of Providence by HYDRA RELOADED [HYDRA] is expected soon.

Johan Moisander, diplomat for HYDRA revealed the scope of the planned attack: "Which system we attack first is irrelevant to be honest. We're going to attack all of Ushra'Khan's systems at the same time."

HYDRA began as enemies of Curatores Veritatis Alliance [CVA] in their birthplace of Providence. With Providence now in hostile hands, HYDRA finds itself allied with CVA in order to take back what they feel is rightfully theirs.

If they succeed in their operation, Johan says: "Our alliance will move into Providence. We will welcome pirate raiders. We will... camp gates in small gun Harbingers for hours like the olden days of Providence."

CVA confirmed that they will be taking part in a mutual invasion of Providence along with HYDRA, with member Marcus Griffin stating that for CVA the invasion began the minute they lost sovereignty.

CVA have different plans for Providence. Once finished they hope "Operation Deliverance" will be completed which will see the region made ready to be handed over to the Amarr Empire. What will become of the alliance between HYDRA and CVA will remain to be seen.

4B-NQN, Providence - A few hours ago, Ushra'Khan [UNITY] lost sovereignty over three systems after corporations were unexpectedly removed from the alliance, it is thought, by a Hydra Reloaded [HYDRA] spy.

In Catch, JWZ2-V, formerly held by Endless Possibilities Inc and UQ-PWD, which was controlled by The Resident Haunting, were both lost, while in Providence, Universal Army's removal cost Ushra'Khan control of 4B-NQN. All told, 15 corporations were removed from Ushra'Khan, with only Unity Holdings and Neh'bu Kau Be'Hude, the executor corporation, being left in the alliance, apparently under control of the Hydra agent.

Ugleb of UNITY said: "As of now, the Ushra'Khan are under hostile control and considered lost."

He believes the traitor to be Tarac Nor, a member of UNITY who has been in the alliance for a year and only recently earned a Head Diplomat role.

Ugleb revealed why he thought Tarac has done it: "Well he is Caldari, I assume [for] ISK."

So far Tarac Nor has not replied to the Interstellar Correspondents' request for an interview. Stay with us as we look to bring further information as we get it.

http://www.eveonline.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=4010&tid=7

4B-NQN, Providence - Tarac Nor has spoken for the first time since he was named as the capsuleer behind the Ushra'Khan [UNITY] disbanding.

Speaking exclusively to the Intersteller Correspondents, Tarac Nor stated: "Right now, Ushra'Khan is under new management."

With members of UNITY accusing him of doing it for ISK, Tarac suggested there were other reasons: "The ISK was a big motivation, but I can't say it was the only motive... I was getting bored with the alliance. Very few were active in the executor corporation and I suppose in the end I wanted to see how far things could go. I have to stress though, this wasn't meant to be personal."

Tarac described his action as a natural progression for UNITY as he believes a lot of their good corporations have already left. He did reveal a soft spot for his former UNITY wingmates however: "It will be interesting to see how the [capsuleers] who were left move on. I hope they can move on."

In closing he revealed there was an offer of a position for him for the near future: "I've been presented a position in HYDRA which looks like it could be fun. I think that's all I can really say for now."

HYDRA have previously stated a wish to see Providence restored to CVA, which may seem odd to some, given the two alliances' former hostile status. But the NRDS (Not Red, Don't Shoot) Providence under CVA was regarded by many of the more piratical forces in New Eden as a sort of hunting preserve - an area rich in targets and resources where they were guaranteed to see combat.

CVA's allies are already urging them to shun making any alliance with HYDRA while Ushra'Khan's old allies are changing their standings towards the UNITY ticker - many for the first time in years.

From GBBS:

Tarac Nor says (17:36): um not sure yet, depending if pieces fall into place, between 20-60 bil
Redacted says (17:38): i trust they gave you some of it already
Tarac Nor says (17:38): get some tomorrow...
Redacted says (17:44): are you planning to keep the alliance name/ or are you likely to give that back now that you've done the damage
Tarac Nor says (17:45): um id like to give it back at some point if its possible, but things have been taken over by garmon to a certain extent
Redacted says (17:46): how much of this was actually your idea and how much was garmon's?
Tarac Nor says (17:46): mine i went to garmon who proceeded to lol very hard

Some of us tl.netters have been wheelchair tippin' up in Pure Blind. There is a spectacular array of retards in the area (NC d-team), but they have been forming up at least.

This friday, d-2 was SBU'd by Cry Havoc (who we've been flying with) in an effort to provoke fights. Well, it certainly worked. Friday night, the various NC alliances plus Goons and Dreddit formed up and we engaged them in an adjacent system. Horrific rape (95 kills to a single dictor loss) ensued:

http://killboard.cryhavoc-eve.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=95031

After that facekicking, CH and DOOM. brought in around 20 moms to r'f the IHUB as well as all of the station services. The IHUB was set to come out in 24 hours (US prime on Saturday).

So, the next day, all of our blues (Cry Havoc, DOOM., Dead Terrorists, Nibbletek and ev0ke) form up for what will obviously be a blobtastic fight. The NC (apart from MM and RZR) aren't particularly good, but they outnumber us by a LOT. The node in d-2 was reinforced (which is probably why we didn't just blackscreen), but of course lag decided the battle.

Cry Havoc and pals (now being called Criumverate), were sitting right on the mq- gate in an armor hac gang in d-2. Various NC alliances from all over the north had bridged into d-2 in seperate fleets, and a 400 man Goon/Dreddit gang were waiting on the other side of the mq- gate. After some waiting (too much waiting, imo when you're engaging a 180 man gang with 720), the NC/Goons finally went for it, warping their forces in d-2 onto grid with us on the gate, and jumping Goons/Dreddit in.

We heard from spies that Goons were loading grid. None of the NC in system had blackscreened on warping onto grid with us. Had CCP succeeded?? No. Of course they hadn't. Modules on both sides were refusing to activate properly. Even with my guns unstacked and auto repeat off, I managed to get about 5 shots off in 10 minutes. After both sides had painfully ground down some of the opposing side's logi, the call was made to warp off to a friendly pos. Losses were light (less than 10) on both sides.

After waiting for hours for a good fight and being blueballed by cocksucking Icelanders, I was done with eve, and so I logged. Later on, though, after the enemy blob had shrunk to around 400, ninja moms were sent in to take out the carriers repping the IHUB. They took down 3 carriers and then got the fuck out of dodge with the mummies.

Anyone got the scoop on what's been happening lately in EVE? Sorry if I'm bumping a really old thread, but I noticed AAA is completely gone now and replaced by The Initiative?? Goonswarm's not even on the map anymore! I know IT somehow managed to squeeze them out of Delve, but did they all join The Initiative or something? I thought AAA was sitting pretty at the end of the war. Just an interested observer here! Been following the thread since it started
