UPDATED
If you are a fan of the Diablo series and miss great PvP action this is a great MMORPG for you!
I found a great server where many of the best players from Dep and Ken play now. Including ManaBlade, Herc, Diago, etc. BaboClub87 is back, many of the old pledges are back.
I know a lot of people at TL.net have played it before, but a lot of things has changed since then!
What's NEW?
- DE introduced '04 - EP6 just came out this fall with new lands, items, tames (Killer Rabbits, Raccoons, Kangaroos etc.) and new bosses
--------------------------------------
A little piece of nostalgia: http://lineage.friskycow.com
Anyway, on Thursday I did some surfing and found this little piece of MMORPG history: Lineage I.
Lots of people stopped playing when all the bots/hacks appeared, but apparently a lot of the legends and old school players from Dep and Ken decided to play there instead.
You should check it out if you never played. All the instructions of D/Ling and connecting can be found on the website.
You can easily hit level 50 in a couple of days and the drop rates have been increased ten fold on both servers (Revive is absolutely ridiculous though). I'm currently on the PCX Server with a few other old TL members.
I just took part in a few sieges and it was a lot of fun. Usually there are 40 players online at a time and I wouldn't mind helping them find some new players.
You can PM me in game and I'll try to help you out as much as possible.
Legend is my Con/Water Elf.
P.S. we could really use a few more members in our pledge. Sacred merged back and we lost the last two sieges against them for Giran Castle. =)

Lineage 2 official tho:S But yea L1 used to be good.
|
I just looked up some videos of this, and I can't exactly tell what it plays like.
It looks a lot like Diablo 2. And if that's the case, then I'm down to play.
|
It is a lot like Diablo 2 and I've played both.
Many people prefer the first one over the second.
The graphics are art.
Oh, to help you guys started use:
www.archive.org and type in lineagedb.com.
Then click on Feb. 14 2008.
It is a very useful tool for those trying to learn the ropes.
My Elf is being debugged, so I just started a DE.
Anyway, this server is a little bit different from the public one. For information on leveling, tips and tricks please post them here and I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities.
Quick Start Guide:
Depending which char you choose, open your inventory and use the scroll of teleportation to get to either singing island or the hidden valley and try to locate the NPC that will give you the ivory set and start leveling to level 18-20 there. =) Once you've done that the wastelands, or talking island should be visited next.
It is very easy to get EXP on this server up until level 49 and Adena (the money system) is very easy to harvest. Once you have good AC and a decent weapon it's time to hit East Oren. You can use the teleporter NPCs to travel town to town until you have enough blessed scrolls of teleport.
Remember to bookmark any important locations by typing /bookmark (name of location) to use your scrolls.
NOTE: All of the monsters will appear white, unlike the public servers. So you won't know each mops level compared to yours unless you use the old lineage database.
I.E. Once in Oren try to avoid Yetis, Iceman and Snow Tigers unless you have really good -AC if you are level 30-40. Hunt the Oren Wastelands.
You can only use global chat when you are level 30. You have to type & before your message.
There are many helpful people on the server to help you get started.
Character Recommendations:
If you are going to start playing and have no idea where to put your points. Just ask here. Just remember constitution is fundamental to almost every char, especially for bosses and sieges.

poppa, everyone usually gathers around the Giran Square. All you have to do is use your Giran Charm and it will automatically transport you there.
As for mop hunting, use Lineagedb.com. You can only access it by using archive.org and then typing it in. Make sure you bookmark that page. There is a very good beginner strategy guide there and all the rules apply. I just tested a Mage myself and I couldn't find the NPC that gives you the Ivory Tower Set on Singing Island.
There is one in Hidden Valley though (the other starting grounds you can teleport to via NPC in your starting town) located by the blacksmith (northeast corner).
As for connecting to the server. Look at the Shoutbox for latest updates on the IP changes. It is the quickest way. The Server has become quite popular, so the Servers usually go down for a short-time once a day.

Back to my original message:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, looks like we have a few supporters!
I'm going to post some of the questions people have been asking!
*****
Question:
High rate (Revive), or 'normal' rate (PCX)?
There is no right, or wrong answer; however, in my opinion for those new to lineage they should try Revive first to get a feel for the game.
You can easily go from level 1 to level 80 in a few hours. Great EXP and the drop rates.
Revive is great for testing out builds. Although, many find the PCX server more rewarding.
Think of it this way:
Revive: level 1 to 80 in one day.
PCX: level 1 to 48/52 in one day.
Both servers have no level limit. Revive has certain items that you won't find on PCX though.
Revive is newer.
They're updating that server regularly. All updates are posted on their front page. Bonus points for having the same color scheme as TL. The Revive Server changes it's IP on a regular basis, so please stay active in the boards to find out the new address. Look on the right side to find it.
They're in the process of upgrading the server as we speak because the population continues to grow.
With that said.
The PCX Server, or 'normal-rate' server is the preference of many. As it is more challenging and rewarding.
- The drop rates are still very high.
- EXP has been bumped up. From scratch you can easily make level 48 to 52 in one day.
- You make money ridiculously fast (the whole world revolves around adena, not item trades like Diablo and you can host shops while you are afk to get what you are looking for).
- You never have to buy certain pots and blessed teleport scrolls and haste pots on BOTH servers: (HUNT OWL - just east of Oren and Fire Valley once you have minimal -AC [armor], and Fire Valley [Lair of Val, or Werldern].
*****
- Like I said before, Bill and the rest of the admins are focused on upgrading the REVIVE server. They've added their own items, which are supposed to be fantastic. It's all on the first page. So make sure you read up about them!
- Many of us are on the PCX server right now as some of us cannot log onto the Revive Server and some of us find it more rewarding. Remember how I said you can make level 80 in one day on Revive? Well, you can make level 48-52 in one day on PCX. You do the math. On the commercial servers if you were starting from scratch it would take you well over 3 months if you were playing at least 10-12 hours a day.
There is a good feud going on between my friend's Blood Pledge (Redefined) and Sacred. We need all the help we can get.
If we get enough TL.netters we could make our own BP and hopefully get permission to use the pony logo :D
Question What's the easiest character/race to use for a first timer?
Like I said, money gathering shouldn't be an issue. With that said, make sure you use archive.org and type in http://www.lineagedb.com.
This Database is essential for everyone. Sometimes the pages don't load and some maps aren't up. However, for the ones that do work make sure you right click on the camera and open them up in a new tab. They're very helpful because you can get lost easily.
With that said, Elves are great for a first timer (I like to call them the best all-around), but in PvP Mages and DEs definitely have the upper hand once you are a high level.
**CLASSES**
Why Elf?
- They get up to level 6 Mage spells. - They have their own line of Elven Magic. - You have the basic line and the elemental line. - Once you hit a certain level (you'll get an in-game message with regard to this), you can choose an elemental line (fire, water, earth, wind) and you can change it at anytime. - Elves make great use of swords and bows. You get the best of both worlds.
Water line: healing - never have to worry about healing pots again, great for pve
Wind line: highest damage
Earth line: bind is fucking imbalance. Once you reach 48 you can use that spell and blind an entire group. Great in sieges, but they're going to nerf it soon.
Fire: well, if you are in an area where most mops are weak to fire, it comes in handy, but few elves go this route.
****
Knights: best HP in the game. They are the best tanks in any situation. POT HEAVEN. Very expensive character. You need good equipment to start this guy up.
****
Mages: They eat most chars for breakfast once you hit a certain level. If you're going for this fella, make sure you have insane INT and WIS. They get a lot of points to use at the start. Note for summons. For every 4 points in CHA, you get another summon. There are items you can get to bump up your CHA to have 3 summons/pets at a time.
I recommend 18INT 18WIS and the rest in CON. Or, put 18 in CON and raise your WIS or INT at a later time. Like I said, HP is important.
****
DE: they have some of the best gear in the game. Ridiculous AC and damage. I've only played them a few times. There are many dif. viable builds, and asking around doesn't help so much. You have to play around with this one.
----
DEs, Mages and Knights are very expensive to make though. They really need the proper equipment to get going.
DE items are easy to make and easy to get (you get many of their goodies from the simple quests) so it wouldn't be hard to zel some great gear.
One thing is certain, if you want to BOSS Hunt (and I know everyone does) you need good CON regardless or else you'll die in 1-3 hits on some bosses. We still haven't ended Val on the PCX server amongst others and we have several level 60 chars.[/b]
All the various builds can be found in the lineagedb, so it would be kind of redundant to say them all.
Question:
What blood pledge is everyone in?
We're in RD, or Redefined on the PCX Server. Alpha is our Prince. If someone plans on making a Prince please contact me beforehand!

On October 24 2019 21:19 Noviko wrote: I'm playing Lineage 2 Classic right now, but I heard that, diablo 4 is probably coming out in 2020, is it true? There hasn't been a announcement of D4 yet, and usually blizzard wouldn't give a release date when they announce it either, while they do tend to announce games they are working on years before they release them along with traditionnal soon™ talk which means they don't know when they'll release it cause it's not finished yet etc. I mean blizzard has changed a lot but I wouldn't expect a release in 2020 if they announced D4 at blizzcon for example.

Lineage - my all time favorite game, first release was better
