The ref was favoring them the whole game, why wouldn't you go for it. He's probably flag the Chargers if they didn't get it anyways...

I'm probably wrong about that though, over exaggerating. But the Chargers truely got screwed over by Ed, the ref.

I don't think he was favoring them, I think he just made a mistake.

Cutler fumbled the ball and the Chargers recovered, but the ref thought it was a forward pass and whistled it dead. Since the Chargers recovered the ball after his whistle, even though the review showed it was a fumble he had to give the ball back to the Broncos. They scored a TD and then went for the 2pt conv. and got the win.

I totally agree. He's one of the best refs in the league. At least he had the decency to admit that it was a mistake. No, it shouldn't happen, but it's part of the game... Refs make mistakes. I would be pissed if it had gone against Denver, but it didn't, so I'm happy! haha

He tore up the Vikings last week, too, and he played well against Dallas last year. He's not a top tier QB at this point, but he's certainly a good QB.

Yeah, despite the call being completely wrong, the Chargers had THREE opportunities to win the game afterward. And the 2pt conversion was the exact same play they ran before. There's no excuse for them not stopping it. BTW: Where were your picks this week? I'm 11-3 so far! Doing well this time around, not so much last time, I don't think.

An interesting fact about teams that went for a 2-point conversion when down by one point with 2 minutes or less remaining in the fourth quarter since the 2-point conversion rule began in 1994:

Date Team Time Scored? W-L Score

Sept. 14, 2008 Denver vs. San Diego 0:24 Scored Won 39-38

Dec. 24, 2006 Cincinnati. at Denver 0:41 Failed Lost 24-23

Nov. 13, 2005 Tampa Bay vs. Washington 0:58 Scored Won 36-35

Dec. 19, 2004 Detroit vs. Minnesota 0:08 Failed Lost 28-27

Dec. 15, 2002 Minnesota at New Orleans 0:05 Scored Won 32-31

Oct. 12, 1997 Chicago vs. Green Bay 1:54 Failed Lost 24-23

Nov. 19, 1995 Jacksonville at Tampa Bay 0:37 Failed Lost 17-16

Also in the first quarter, the refs ruled what should have been a Chargers completion a Denver interception. Chargers challenged, and TV replays showed that it was clearly a completion. However, the review equipment they had "malfunctioned," and the refs let the bad call on the field stand. This gave denver the ball 20 yards from the endzone and they got an easy TD. This is the 21st century. Football games should not be decided based on technical difficulties.

Denver basically got 15 free points that game and won by 1.

Yeah, I didn't see that. I came into the game late, due to it not being broadcast at my house. They didn't get 15 free points, by the way. The Chargers had two opportunities to absolutely win the game, and they couldn't do it. And, as I stated before, the exact same route was run twice by Royal, there's no excuse for them not stopping that when they had him in triple coverage.

I just saw a replay of that 20 yd sack on Favre... he should have been given forward progress, or called in the grasp well before he got taken down for 20 yards. He didn't willingly go backwards, he never escaped the grasp and tried to go forward from the point to which he was dragged, and he couldn't go down because of the Thomas Jones. That was a bullshit call.

god emotions in this game go from such huge lows to such huge highs
my only worry is that the eagles haven't seemed to be able to sustain one of those 10-11 play 80 yard drives down the field. 2 td's off turnovers, 1 bomb to jackson, and a couple of fg's (1 on a short field)

*edit*
what a fucking donkey get on the endzone before you spike it you retard jesus christ if that was a 15 yard penalty i would have been furious

As a football fan, I'd just like to say that game explains why I watch the game.

And as a Dallas Cowboy fan, that was a SWEET game. They gutted it out in a real brawl and it's the close ones that you remember. They still have a lot of stuff to work on, but they won so I'll be happy with that.

Holy shit that was awesome.

I was trying to watch it on NFL Live when I Was in a training session, and these students had the cheek to interrupt me. : [

As an Eagles fan though, from what I saw, I'm actually pretty pleased, I wish we coulda just gone that extra yard but to keep it that close against what's probably the best football team in the NFL right now is good enough for me,

Apparently you can, KOFGokuon found an online stream, so.... yeah.

That said, I HATE ESPN's MNF crew. Ron Jaworski is the most annoying person I have ever listened to. He says everything like it's the most interesting shit anyone has ever said in the history of the world, and then he has this annoying narrative voice like he's describing something from NFL Films Presents. To make things worse, he hardly ever adds real knowledge to the game. He's like Madden, pointing out all the obvious things: "you need to be able to run the ball in the fourth quarter when you have the lead." No shit Sherlock, you mean when you're up on a team, you want to kill the clock in the fourth? Holy shit, give this man the fucking trophy for "Most Obvious Statement". No fucking shit you need to run the ball in the fourth quarter. By the way, the underlines are semi-emphatic, and the bold is really emphatic. That's how that asshole talks. The worst part about him is that he isn't even remotely entertaining to listen to. Madden is hilarious, Ron is annoying.

Then you have Tony Kornheiser's retarded ass on there. I can't think of a specific example of something stupid that he's said, but if you watch PTI for about five minutes you can figure out that the guy is the sports equivalent to the kid with Down Syndrome working the register at McDonald's.

The only guy I can stand is the play by play guy, whose name escapes me, and that's because most of the time he's only describing the play for (assumedly) the blind people watching TV. The instant he injects his own view of what's going on I hate him too.

Then those morons start talking about everything BUT football. They're worse than Al Michaels. Running their mouths about Jessica Simpson, and who knows what else. I've heard them talking about the most irrelevant shit during these games... like American Idol. Yeah, American fucking Idol. This isn't a fucking morning talk show where you get to talk about random hot topics, it's football. Keep the conversation on football, please. No one cares if you think John Jackass should have beaten David Douchebag for first place this season, your opinion is irrelevant. Just because you have the ability to spew your idiotic ramblings upon the viewers doesn't mean you should take advantage of it, you cocksuckers.

Prior to tonight, I had never watched a football game on mute. I can no longer make that statement. I hate that crew so much that I actually muted my TV. Which sucked, because I like hearing the crowd and field noise.

And please don't bitch about this being filled with hate. I've been bottling this up for at least one full season now. I hate that damn crew, and I've nearly stopped watching Monday Night Football because of them, but I like football too much to allow that to happen.

Only until McNabb's inevitable injury will the Eagles be good. Jeff Garcia isn't backing him up anymore (he's backing Brian Greise, lol).

Definitely. If I was a fan of either team I would have been going crazy. I didn't care about the game too much, and was doing other things during part of it. Week 2 this year has been absolutely insane all around.

Only when your team wins do the highs outweigh the lows. I know what it's like to see your team on the losing end of a game like this (Broncos/Colts 2006), and they're still fun to watch, but there's just this awful feeling left inside of you when they lose the game. When they win, though, it is indescribable.
